Hyundai Hires Former Lamborghini Director To Lead Genesis Brand

Hyundai has announced the hiring of Manfred Fitzgerald as the new Senior Vice President of the Genesis luxury brand.

Fitzgerald is best known for his work with Lamborghini, where he spent 12 highly successful years.

Fitzgerald will be charged with developing marketing strategies and taking care of other business that will show off Hyundai Genesis brand as a value brand that also excels in the luxury category.

He is the latest addition to the Hyundai team, with the likes of Peter Schreyer, Luc Donckerwolke, and Albert Biermann already on board to help bolster the image of Hyundai as a luxury brand.

The first vehicle to bear the Genesis label has already been revealed in Korea, with the G90 being the first of 6 new vehicles to come. This just goes to show the level of commitment that the Koreans have in developing their luxury brand.

The designers at Hyundai went for a more elegant look with the design of the G90 full-size sedan. The engines used for the G90 include a 3.8-liter V6 GDi, a turbocharged 3.3-liter V6, and a 5.0-liter V8 from the Tau series.

There are some new dimensions to discuss with the G90. With the overall length set as 5,205 millimeters, while the width and wheelbase come in at 1,915 millimeters and 3,160 millimeters, respectively. The gross weight of the vehicle will be between 2,420 and 2,595 kg.
