Korea: Hyundai Veloster Facelift Launched With A 7-Speed DCT
The Hyundai Veloster coupe that is sold in the Korean market is getting an updated version.
The prototype models have been seen in various forms of disguise for about a year now, with the finished model expected to be unveiled at one of the major international auto show sometime in the coming months, with the actual release date set for the second half of the year.
UPDATE: Hyundai has unveiled the Veloster facelift in Korea and here are the first photos!
The model that really peaks our interest is the Veloster Turbo, which Hyundai has revealed will come with their new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).
This will replace the 6-speed automatic unit that is currently offered with the existing model. A 6-speed manual unit will still be the standard transmission on other Veloster models.
On the downside, there will be no additional power added, which means that the 1.6-liter 4-cylinder turbo will still deliver 204-horsepower.
A rather unique addition to the engine for the new Turbo is an electronic sound generator that comes with 6 customizable levels. Vehicle dynamics will also be adjustable, with Dynamic, Sporty, and Extreme being the 3 settings to choose from.
You have to look really close if you want to spot any design changes made to the vehicle.
The headlights have some new detailing, and there is a splash of silver trim on the grille, as well as some new wheel patterns to choose from.
Inside the car, perforated leather trim has been added to the steering wheel, as well as a few other little tweaks.
We will keep you updated on any and all news about the upcoming Hyundai Veloster facelift in the weeks and months to follow.
