According to a higher ranking Hyundai staff member, the upcoming third-generation Tucson crossover will offer dramatic styling changes once launched in the U.S. market next year.
The latest spy shots, published here at the Hyundai Tucson news blog, prove that the popular compact crossover will indeed adopt a sleeker exterior, as well as some significant styling tweaks made to the front and rear fascias for the 2016 model year.
It also appears that the new model will grow in size, making some needed space for a long-rumored sub-compact CUV, which should hit the U.S. soil in late 2016.

What Changes To Expect?
In terms of styling, the vehicle will be more athletic and aggressive than the model it will replace, according to a source close to Hyundai.
Inside, there will be some major changes in terms of dashboard design, while higher-quality materials are also expected to be applied across the board.
As well as looking more attractive, the new Tucson will also boast improved ride and handling.
Also included in the mix will be a wide number of up-to-date safety systems and premium features that are usually reserved for vehicles in a much higher price range.
Release Date
Hyundai Tucson is expected to be released in the second half of 2016, after making its official worldwide premiere at one of the major auto shows.
Some rumors suggest that the vehicle may be unveiled already at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2015, however, Hyundai has yet to officially confirm or deny that.

We have already reported that Hyundai of USA has some big plans with the next-generation Tucson.
It’s not a secret though, that the automaker wants to acquire a larger share of the compact crossover vehicle segment.
With the falling gas prices on the horizon, the SUV / CUV segments are expected to post significant growth in the years ahead, so Hyundai wants to make sure they offer the best-possible CUV product portfolio to satisfy the US’ consumer needs.
