Santa Cruz To Be Based On Tucson, Cost Around $25,000
The Koreans showed off a Santa Cruz crossover truck at the Detroit Motor Show, and reaction from consumers and media types was almost unanimously positive.
That is exactly what Hyundai officials were hoping for, and the end result is that a production model may be here sooner rather than later!

A report at Edmunds suggests that Hyundai will borrow elements from the 2016 Tucson SUV as opposed to building the new vehicle from the ground up.
The Santa Cruz pickup crossover should look great, and it will almost certainly be an all-wheel drive model.
Scott Margason, Hyundai Motor America’s director of product planning, spoke to the same source at Edmunds and essentially verified the report.
He said there was a lot of work being done to determine the production viability of the concept.
If the Santa Cruz truck does end up getting made, it could prove to be a very big winner for Hyundai.

It’s too early to really predict, but expect the vehicle to go for around $25,000.
Hyundai may not necessarily be experts in this segment, but you get the sense that they know enough to deliver a vehicle that will speak to the consumer.
