2016 Hyundai Tucson CUV Officially Launched
Hyundai has begun to really make a name for themselves when it comes to the design of their crossover vehicles, and they are sure to get even more positive attention now that the new 2016 Tucson CUV has been revealed.
When the covers were pulled off the new vehicle at the official launching event, what was shown was a bold re-imagining of the Tucson, and one that is sure to impress a large number of people.
2016 Tucson Exterior Design
Bold really is the word that springs to mind when you look at the styling of the Tucson CUV.
It’s a vehicle that looks sleek and agile, yet rugged enough to tackle any type of terrain.
The technologies that have been added make it a vehicle that doesn’t just meet expectations for the segment, but actually sets the bar for those that will follow.
The new look starts at the front of the vehicle, where the hexagonal grille and LED headlamps create what looks like a wing shape that gives an impression of width and strength.
The wheels arches are shaped in a way that makes the side profile appear as though the car is in motion at all times, and helps create a side profile that is almost aggressive, in a good way, in its stance.
Refined Interior
This redesign is not all just about how the car looks on the outside, though, as Hyundai have gone to great lengths to create an interior that is as flawless as the outside.
This was done with by using quality, soft-touch materials throughout, and testing ergonomics until they had achieve a level of comfort that simply cannot be surpassed.
The amount of space on the inside is amazing, with ample room for passengers, as well as 513-liters of cargo space on offer when the rear seats have been folded down. The 2016 Hyundai Tucson utilizes interior space in a way that makes it truly versatile.
Convenience And Safety Features
We mentioned the use of technology in the vehicle earlier in the piece, and it’s fair to say that the Hyundai Tucson is loaded in that regard.
Heated and ventilated front seats make for a comfortable ride, while the smart power tailgate and Smart Parking Assist systems add a high level of convenience.
Safety features abound in the Tucson, with the likes of Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Blind Spot Detection systems making the ride a much safer one for the driver and passengers.
An active hood system is also in place, which raises the hood and cushions the blow somewhat if a pedestrian or cyclist is struck in a collision.
Efficient Engines For 2016
Under the hood of the 2016 Hyundai Tucson is where you will find an incredible selection of highly-advanced engines.
There are a pair of gasoline engines, and no less than three diesel options available (European market).
Two gasoline engines offered in Europe are the 135-horsepower 1.6L GDI and 176-horsepower 1.6L T-GDI turbocharged unit (brand new!)
The new 1.6L turbo engine comes with the option of a 6-speed manual transmission or the brand-new 7-speed dual clutch transmission – DCT.
Diesel engine range offers a choice of a 1.7L unit with 115 horsepower, 2.0L (136 horsepower) and range topping 184-horsepower 2.0L unit.
According to Hyundai, all engines offered in the 2016 Tucson CUV have been enhanced to offer improved driveability and fuel efficiency, as well as meeting Euro6 emission standards.
