Hyundai Announces 2016 Tucson CUV Release Date
Hyundai releases first official teaser image of the redesigned 2016 Tucson CUV.
The all-new Tucson compact crossover vehicle is still a little ways away from being officially released, but Hyundai is teasing consumers by unveiling a sketch and a short teaser video of the upcoming vehicle, which is known also as the ix35 in other markets.
The official Hyundai Tucson unveiling is expected to take place at the Geneva Motor Show next month, while sales are expected to commence shortly after.
News UPDATE: Hyundai unveils new Tucson CUV!!
March 3rd is the expected release date for the 2016 Hyundai Tuscon, which will boast a more premium look.
It will feature a bolder, more muscular stance than before, with president and chief design officer Peter Schreyer saying that the large hexagonal grille will be its defining feature.
Also added into the mix will be pronounced features like those seen on the facelifted i30 5-door hatchback, as well as some chrome elements connecting the LED headlights.
Peter Schreyer issued a statement where he said that he expects the new 2016 Tucson CUV to be a big step forward for Hyundai on a global scale.
It has been previously reported that Hyundai is hoping to deliver a vehicle that drives like a premium, with a ride that is almost totally smooth.
The majority of the engines will be carried over from the outgoing model, but Hyundai has said that one new unit will be made available.
This is likely to be either a high-end 2.0L turbo, or a 1.7-liter CRDi diesel-electric hybrid unit like the one used in the Kia Optima T-Hybrid concept car.
This may also end up being the first Hyundai vehicle to employ a twin-clutch gearbox like the one set to appear in the updated Hyundai i30.
