First 2015 Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell Vehicles Arrive To California
In a port near Los Angeles, the first shipment of Hyundai’s Tucson Fuel Cell CUV’s made their way onto US soil.
The delivery marked the first time that a shipment of this sort had made its way to the US market.
Consumers looking to get their hands on one should find the first 2015 Tucson Fuel Cell vehicles available for sale in Southern California in a few weeks.
The great news for potential customers is that the Tucson Fuel Cell will be available as part of the Hyundai leasing program for just $499 per month.
That price includes unlimited free hydrogen refills and the “At Your Service” valet maintenance program.
This will be the first chance that consumers will have to own a mass-produced fuel cell vehicle that had been federally certified.
Three California Hyundai dealers will be carrying the vehicle: Tustin Hyundai, Win Hyundai in Carson, and Hardin Hyundai in Anaheim.
Mike O’Brien, vice president, corporate and product planning, Hyundai Motor America, believes that fuel cell vehicles should be considered the next generation of zero-emission electric vehicle technology.
He spoke about the range and refueling aspect of the Tucson, saying that it compared favorably with the gasoline models.
He believes that this will make for a seamless transmission when the time comes that all cars on the road will have zero emissions.
Customers in the Los Angeles/Orange County area will be able to lease the Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell for 36 months at just $499 per month.
A $2,999 down payment will be required. The costs definitely seem a whole lot better when you take into account the free hydrogen refueling program.
There is definite interest in the new vehicle, as more than 200,000 unique visitors have paid a visit to the Tucson Fuel Cell microsite.
Tucson Fuel Cell owners will also get the same “At Your Service” valet program enjoyed by Equus owners.
As part of the program, a driver will come to your home to pick up your car when it needs any kind of service or maintenance.
You will be given a loan vehicle for the duration the time that the Tucson is gone, with the car delivered back to your front door once the work has been completed.
