Hyundai And Bisimoto Tease Tricked-Out Sonata With 708-HP
Hyundai and Bisimoto Engineering are partnering for a third straight year to create something for the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
This year it will be a 708-horsepower Hyundai Sonata that they will work on.
Hyundai’s 2.4-liter Theta-II 4-cylinder is what the team will be using as the focal point.
Many of the internal components – connecting rods, forged pistons, etc. – will be strengthened and combined with a high-boost turbocharger and flex-fuel to deliver the 708-hp.
The finished vehicle will also feature a 6-speed manual transmission and will be revealed at a press conference on November 4 at 9 AM.
Bisi Ezerioha, owner and chief engineer, Bisimoto Engineering, said that the new Hyundai Sonata midsize sedan was the perfect car for this particular build.
He said that achieving such power was impossible without reliability, which is exactly what the Sonata brings to the table.
Bisimoto gave the Sonata a custom laminated body wrap and graphics to match the overhaul with the engine.
The interior got a definite sporty upgrade with the addition of racing harnesses, AEM wideband gauges, and EK Autoworx interior paint.
A Burn stainless exhaust system and Fifteen52 18-inch aluminum wheels help complete the sporty styling.
