Redesigned Sonata, Genesis, RK Sedan Release Dates

Lately, there has been a lot of talk about the next-generation Sonata mid-size sedan and especially, the Genesis luxury sedan.

We have also seen a couple of great spy shots of both sedans being spotted during the final phases of pre-production testing in the USA, as well as in Korea.

According to latest rumors spreading over the world wide web, Hyundai will put on sale both sedans in North America already next year.

Scheduled to debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January next year, the second-generation Genesis luxury sedan is scheduled to go on sale in the USA in second quarter of 2014.

The 2015 Genesis is expected to feature a completely redesigned exterior and interior layouts, as well as a completely re-enginered rear-wheel-drive platform.

Additionally, the next-generation Hyundai Genesis will also offer an optional all-wheel-drive system for further improved ride and handling.

Redesigned Sonata, RK sedan

The highly-anticipated Sonata redesign will bring consumers a refreshed exterior and upgraded interior.

Already the seventh-generation of the popular mid-size sedan is expected to make its official debut at the auto show in New York, while sales are rumored to commence in the third quarter of 2014.

Although Hyundai won’t radically change the underpinnings of the next-generation Sonata sedan, the carmaker has reportedly improved the model’s ride quality and handling.

RK Small RWD Sedan

The 2015 Hyundai RK is small luxury sedan based on the shortened Genesis’ rear-wheel-drive platform.

Positioned bellow the Genesis luxury sedan, the RK would compete against the BMW 3-series, Audi A4 and Lexus IS.

Not many details are known about this niche luxury car, but we believe it could hit the US soil at the end of 2014 or beginning of 2015.
