The design concept used by Hyundai on this model is described as “Inner Force,” which can be seen in its aesthetically pleasing appearance. With a host of premium features to be found, it would be easy to believe that the new Sonata was made for a segment above.
While a premium look and style are very much present, the Sonata still delivers a high level of functionality, which is always a welcome addition.
The goal that Hyundai has when putting together the all-new Sonata was to deliver an upscale feel to the sedan, whilst still paying homage to the proud heritage of the car.
They also wanted to instill a high level of driver confidence, which they have been able to achieve via a modified platform that delivers a higher level of drivability.
Riding On New Platform With Improved Structural Rigidity
The new platform delivers in a number of ways, including an improvement in structural rigidity and suspension performance.
The end result is a 41% increase in torsional strength and a 35% improvement in bending strength when compared to the outgoing model.

- Redesigned underpinnings of the all-new Sonata contribute to an improvement in suspension performance and a greater structural rigidity over the previous generation models
A Look Inside The New Sonata 4-Door Sedan
The new Sonata is a little longer (+35mm) and wider (+30mm) than the previous model, giving it a nice increase in the amount of interior space.
As well as the advanced suspension design, the Sonata also comes with plenty of active safety features such as Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning System and Advanced Smart Cruise Control.
There are also a number of convenience features included that make driving the all-new Hyundai Sonata pleasurable as well as safe.
Just a few of the premium features that have been added include rear parking sensors, heated leather seats and rear-side curtain airbags.
The new Sonata also gets an advanced multimedia and infotainment system that take the value of the vehicle well beyond what you will actually have to pay.
The engineers at Hyundai also worked very hard to ensure that the powertrains included in the Sonata would fit the premium mold that the rest of the car showed off.
They were easily able to do that, delivering great acceleration, excellent low to mid-range torque, and impressive fuel efficiency.
There is the option of either manual or automatic transmissions, with all powertrains delivering low emissions that show off Hyundai’s commitment to the global environment.
The Korean automaker has made a significant financial and time investment to ensure that every detail of the all-new Sonata is just right.
