Hyundai Santa Cruz Pick-Up Truck Confirmed For Production In 2021
Hyundai Motor America confirms the arrival of the Santa Cruz pick up truck!
There have been a lot of specualtion and talk over the potential released date of Hyundai’s first-ever pick-up truck in the United States.
The speculation is now over, folks!
Hyundai Motor America have just announced that the Santa Cruz has been given a green light for production!
While the exact official release date of the Santa Cruz pick-up has yet to be announced, the South Korean automaker did confirm that the vehicle is scheduled to go on sale in U.S. in 2021.
The official press release did not reveal many details about the upcoming Hyundai pick-up truck. It did, however, reveal that the pick-up truck will be manufactured at Hyundai’s Alabama plant.
That means that the new Hyundai Santa Cruz will be built alongside the Sonata midsize sedan and Santa Fe crossover vehicle.
The automaker’s spokesperson refused to reveal more details than that, however, when asked what will the 2021 Santa Cruz be like, he noted that the vehicle will be for those who want all the traditional attributes of a compact utility vehicle, but need the day-to-day versatility of an open bed!
2021 Hyundai Santa Cruz to be built in U.S.
In order to start the production of the 2021 Santa Cruz pick-up truck, Hyundai will invest $410 million to expand the production lines and add the equipment to support the addition of a new model.
That includes additional space in the stamping, welding and parts processing areas of their Alabama manufacturing facility.
The upcoming expansion of the production complex, Hyundai will also employ another 200 people, while local suppliers and logistics companies who work with the automaker are projected to employ additional 1000 people in the region.
Stay tuned for more Hyundai Santa Cruz news and reports!
I have been watching for the release of the Santa Cruz Pick-Up. Is there anyway to pre-order the vehicle. I have been waiting patiently for the release.
I Am Interested In Pre-Ordering A 2021 Santa Cruz !!
Sign me up for a preorder as well!!
Topic, Santa Cruz for 2021. Is it to look like the 2015 photo (sharp, sporty lines) or is to be another traditional 4 door pickup with all doors being large. The 2015 doors had two large doors and two small rear doors. If it is the full size 4 door version, I will go else where to buy-at my age, I do not need 4 doors…
It better look like the one in the pictures, or im not buying it.
Where can I get ya crossover pickup. Willing to be 1 of the 1st to buy& to be as a show truck for others to c. Willing to travel to pick it up. Not from a dealership. Just let me know. Am driving a 2006 Baja with almost 300,ooo miles. Need a nice truck like yours. Thanks
INTERESTED IN PRE ORDERING THE SANTA CRUZ, AS LONG AS THEY DID NOT CHANGE THE BODY STYLE TOO MUCH FROM WHAT WAS FIRST RELEASED YEARS AGO/ 2015. I AM SNOWBOARDING, SURFING, DOG OWNER & MOM THAT DOES NOT WANT A TRUCK, IN I PREFER A SUV WITH A SHORTBED(ACTIVE LIFESTYLE)THANK YOU
Not interested in another 4 large door vehicle. The two door concept with the larger cargo area is what I would buy.
Yeah me too however 4door would ,smaller rear doors like pics
I have a Santa Fe and would love to replace it when the new Cruz is available provided it looks close to the earlier photos. Lets hope Hyundai doesn’t disappoint their customers and blow the anticipated design.
Sorry to disappoint those looking only for a two door open bed vehicle. From pics of the camouflaged test vehicle, this will be a four door truck. But please don’t let that stop you from considering this vehicle. A 4 door version is more versatile, and marketable. Just get in line behind me when you want to order one. Been babying my 2006 Ram 3500 to last me till the Santa Cruz is released, hoping to no avail, that this would be my last set of tires before investing in a new vehicle. The warranty, the reliability, the drivability, the versatility as well as the good looks of current Hyundai vehicles certainly warrants a good look at the 2021 Santa Cruz. Some may argue that it’s not a real truck. Well, for the 360 days a year when you are hauling nothing but air in your “real truck”, when you do have to haul that load of sod or pavers, rent a pick up at Home Depot for the day. I would like to suggest to the design powers at Hyundai to think vertical , rather than merely horizontal, with the Santa Cruz rear bed. Certainly they will have a bed extender of some sort, but maybe ready made inserts that slide into the bed to hold bicycles vertical, or a padded bracket to hold lumber or a kayak inclined vertically against the top of the cabin rear. Thinking vertical, instead of only horizontal, will give marketing and usage of this truck bed a whole new dimension.
I want one just like the 2 door concept , I buy it today , love it
Will the San Cruz be available as a diesel and will it be sold in Mexico
From pics there’s a full size fourand there’s one. Looks like two door but also four door but smaller rear doors that’s the one for me
i am waiting to see the new pick up
I want one too! contact me when available to order.
