Hyundai Palisade 8-Seater SUV To Be Officially Unveiled At The L.A. Auto Show
When Hyundai trademarked the Palisade name earlier this year, we knew that something big was coming. Now we know that the Palisade will serve as Hyundai’s flagship crossover model.
Palisade to debut at the L.A. auto show
The 2020 Hyundai Palisade will officially be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in late November of this year.
The name of the vehicle is taken from a wealthy neighborhood in California known for its beautiful landscapes. Much like the homes in that community, the Hyundai Palisade 8-seater SUV will have an exterior that is bold and attention grabbing.
Hyundai have said that the new model will feature and “understated theme” that will be truly worthy of a vehicle designed to be a flagship SUV.
The sleek new large-sized SUV will have families as its target audience and will feature seating for 8 people, as well as a ton of cargo space.
As you would expect from a family vehicle, safety features will be plentiful, but the Palisade will also feature premium materials and state of the art technology.

Hyundai (Korea) did issue a press release for the 2020 Palisade, but it was not filled with many details. Word is that the overall design will be somewhat similar to that of the HDC-2 Grandmaster concept model that was on display in Busan earlier this year.
Previous spy shots of the Palisade showed a vehicle under camouflage, but with enough showing to let us know that it will feature a stylish grille similar to the one used on the Santa Fe.
One design feature on the crossover that really jumps out is the use of the chrome window trim, which slopes downward towards the C-pillar. This is one of the design elements that was used in the Grandmaster concept, and it’s one that will definitely help make the vehicle stand out in a crowd.
There are not a lot of details known about the upcoming model, although we do know that it will have many elements in common with the 2020 Kia telluride, which will be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in early 2019.
The Telluride and the Palisade are expected to ride on the same platform, with Kia revealing that their model is a little longer and wider than the currently available Sorento mid-size SUV.
The Kia model will feature a V6 engine, potentially the 3.3-liter V6 that produces 290 hp (216 kW / 294 PS) and 252 lb.-ft. (341 Nm) of torque unit that appears in the Sorento.
