Victoria Hyundai Donating New Elantra GT To Support The BC Cancer Foundation
Victoria Hyundai has announced that they will be donating a brand new 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT in a fundraising move to support the BC Cancer Foundation.
The car will be auctioned off at the annual Jingle Mingle. The Automotive Journalists of Canada voted the 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT as their ‘Best New Small Car.”
The donation marks the second year in a row that Hyundai has lent their support to the BC Cancer Foundation.
The BC Cancer Foundation will put the car on display at a number of different fundraising and promotional events throughout the year.
The vehicle will then be auctioned off at the December 5, 2013 Jingle Mingle event, with proceeds going towards cancer research at the BC Cancer Agency.
There is no bigger fundraising even in Victoria than the Jingle Mingle, which raised over $1 million last year alone.
Doug Nelson, President of the BC Cancer Foundation spoke about how the organization would not be as successful as it is if it were not for the contributions of local companies like Victoria Hyundai.
He said that their generosity was an example of how local companies help cancer patients and their families within the community.
Stephen Munro, Dealer Principal at Victoria Hyundai said that the company was thrilled to be a part of such a great cause.
He feels that cancer is an illness that touches everyone in one way or another and was proud that such great research and treatment was available in his own backyard.
He commended the folks at the BC Cancer Foundation and the BC Cancer Agency for the hard work and dedication that they show every day.
