Twitter: 2011 Hyundai Elantra teaser image
Hyundai releases a teaser image of its next-generation Elantra sedan, which is scheduled to make its official premiere at the L.A. Auto Show.
Making its official Korean debut earlier this year at the Busan Auto Show, the all-new Elantra is expected to go on sale in the US market shortly after its official US premiere scheduled for the forth-coming Los Angeles International Auto Show.
With the 2010 L.A. Auto Show just around the corner, we have been expecting to see some Elantra shots before its official unveiling. None has been released until today when Hyundai finally published an image of the US-specs 2011 Elantra sedan.
Covered with white taping, the US-specs models seems to look just like the Korean Avante. There are no styling changes visible on the teaser image below, which is good to know since majority of us Hyundai fans like the look of the new Hyundai Avante.
No official word from Hyundai on what is fitted under the hood of new Elantra, but our source revealed us that the 2011 Elantra will feature a brand-new 1.8L Nu engine, which packs 150 horsepower. In a combination with the all-new six-speed automatic gearbox, the next-generation Elantra sedan is expected to achieve segment-best fuel efficiency and break the 40 mpg barrier!
Stay tuned for additional information on the 2011 Elantra powertrain upgrades, which will be released closer to the vehicle’s official US debut. [Image: Twitter]
