New Hyundai App: Build Your Own Zombie Car
Hyundai fans are now able to combine their enthusiasm for the car manufacturer with their gaming habits.
Hyundai have collaborated with The Walking Dead to create a new app – The Walking Dead Chop Shop – where gamers can create their very own zombie apocalypse survival machine.
The game features three customisable Hyundai models – the Elantra, the Santa Fe and the Veloster Turbo – and includes over 300 parts all especially designed with zombie killing properties in mind.
The app will be available on both mobile and desktop, with the Google Play version set to be launched very soon.
You’ll design your zombie fighting Hyundai in a dingy, dark virtual garage, adding customisations to increase your chances of survival.
For those more interested in aesthetics, you can even change the colour of your car.
Once you’ve created your machine, you’ll be given a percentage rating based on your chances of survival in a world under zombie attack.
The website even allows you to submit suggestions for the zombie fighting tools and weapons you think you’d need.
If the masterminds behind the Chop Shop like your idea, then you might just see it crop up in the Chop Shop gallery for thousands of gamers to use. So far, the weapons include razor wire, off road bumpers, a muffler silencer and even a lethal horde plow.
We’re pretty sure there’s room for improvement though, and we imagine anybody who’s a car modification enthusiast should have a few great ideas up their sleeve.
So what’s the point? Well, one design will be chosen by Hyundai, and will actually be built.
Unfortunately, it won’t be added to the likes of the Elantra and be available to buy (it might be a little too difficult to get the likes of AXA to insure it!)
However, it will be showcased at the world-famous Comic-Con which is to be held in New York this October. Something very similar was debuted by Hyundai at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con and created quite the stir amongst car fanatics; check out the car Hyundai created by flicking through this gallery.
So far, according to the app’s website, almost 60,000 zombie fighting cars have been created.
As more and more people hear about it, that will only increase, so if you want the chance to have your design created by Hyundai and showcased at Comic-Con to thousands of people, then get gaming!
