2014 Hyundai ix25 Spy Shots, Release Date
Hyundai is working on a small crossover vehicle (named ix25) which will be released to the market already this year.
The small crossover vehicle segment in Europe has been expanding pretty fast thanks to the popularity of newly-launched models such as Ford Ecosport, Renault Captur and Nissan Juke.
There are many carmakers planning to launch their new small crossover models, including VW, Kia and Hyundai.
That Hyundai is very close to launching their own small sized CUV confirm a series of latest spy shots taken in China.
Rumored to bear the ix25 name, the small crossover vehicle will be based on the same platform as the all-new Kia Soul CUV.
According to latest reports, the forth-coming Hyundai ix25 will benefit from a range of latest Hyundai engines which have been developed for use in the automaker’s small-size vehicles.
Although Hyundai hasn’t released any details about the model’s powertrain technology, it is very likely that the ix25 will be offered with carmaker’s 1.0L and 1,2L T-GDI (gasoline direct injection) turbo engines. A diesel engine (1,4L or 1,6L CRDI) is also highly possible.
Styling-wise, the small crossover vehicle will adopt Hyundai’s latest Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language which has been first applied to the 2015 Genesis luxury sedan.
This means the model will incorporate distinctive exterior styling with a sleek and upscale appearance. [Photos: Motoroids]
