Hyundai Takes 2nd Spot In German’s Car Quality Satisfaction Report
Hyundai Motor Company have announced that they took second spot in a quality satisfaction report put together by German motoring magazine Auto Bild.
In putting their annual report together, the German renowned car magazine looked at 20 original automobile manufacturers, with the likes of Toyota, Ford, Hyundai and Volkswagen all put under the microscope.
They also took a look at the luxury segment sedan makers like BMW, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi.
Auto Bild have been putting their annual report together since 2001.
Hyundai, Kia Take 2nd and 6th spot, respectively
This year saw Hyundai take second spot behind Toyota in overall quality and customer satisfaction.
Hyundai scored particularly well on customer loyalty, a key element in build quality.
The second place spot puts Hyundai ahead of the likes of Mercedes-Benz and Mazda, both of whom shared third place.
Kia shared the sixth place position with BMW, Honda, Audi, and Skoda, which is wholly owned by Volkswagen.
Auto Bild takes a number of things into consideration when compiling the list.
Customer feedback, warranty and recall information, as well as detailed tests results are all considered.
Something that has been working in the favor of Hyundai has been their emphasis on quality control, and on creating cars that are designed to be specific to certain markets.
A large number of the cars that Hyundai sells in Europe are designed and engineered in Russelsheim, Germany, with production taking place at plants in Turkey and the Czech Republic.
Some of the newer models, such as the upcoming Genesis premium sedan, have also been put through their paces at the legendary Nurburgring motorspeed complex.
