Hyundai SUVs and Cars Have The Lowest Average Repair Cost
The second annual CarMD Vehicle Health Index Manufacturer & Vehicle Rankings have shown that Hyundai comes in at number two when it comes to vehicle health.
Furthermore, the average repair cost for Hyundai SUVs and cars is the best among the Top 10 manufacturers.
Hyundai boasts 5 cars in the Top 100 vehicles list: 2011 Santa Fe, 2010 Genesis, 2010 Sonata, 2009 Sonata, and 2009 Santa Fe.
Art Jacobsen, vice president, CarMD said that it was obvious have done more than most to ensure that they deliver reliable vehicles that are built to last.
He went on to say that there were a good selection of reliable vehicles on the market, but that inclusion in the the CarMD Vehicle Health Index Rankings and Lists places Hyundai in the top 5% of vehicles out there today.
The CarMD.com editors believe that Hyundai’s meteoric rise in recent years can be traced back to engineering.
They believe that every car that rolls off the production line has had service and maintenance taken into consideration when it was designed. It’s that which leads to low repair costs and a high score in the rankings.
Hyundai had a Vehicle Health Score of 0.67, which was an improvement over last year’s 0.85. Ironically, the 0.67 score was what gave Toyota top spot in 2011.
The final score is based on such factors as the number of repair incidents and average repair costs.
The index encompassed some 136 million vehicles and 163,000 specific repairs from Sept. 1, 2011 to the same date in 2012. The CarMD Index then rank the Top 10 manufacturers, Top 100 vehicles, Top 3 models by catergory, and most prevalent repairs by make.
Frank Ferrara, executive vice president, Customer Satisfaction, Hyundai Motor America said that the recognition on the CarMD’s Vehicle Health Index shows the commitment that Hyundai is making towards delivering reliable vehicles.
He pointed to the Hyundai Assurance as proof of that commitment to their customers.
