Hyundai Named Most Reliable Automobile Manufacturer
Hyundai swept aside all competition to walk away with the “Most Reliable Manufacturer” award in the 2013 CarMD Vehicle Reliability Ranking.
The annual report ranks manufacturers and their vehicles based on the lowest combined incidences of “check engine” statuses, repair incidents, and costs.
The list includes the Top 10 manufactures, the overall 100 best vehicles divided by category, and the most common repairs that need to be made.
Hyundai spend the previous two years in second place behind Toyota, but this was the year they finally broke through.
Hyundai received an Index rating of .80 and an average repair cost of $312.67. The Index rating was the lowest among all manufacturers, with the average repair cost second lowest.
More than 151,000 specific repairs are taken into account when putting the Index together, with all model year 2003 to 2013 vehicles from Oct. 1, 2012 to Sept. 30, 2013 included.
On top of the reliability offered by Hyundai, there is also their Assurance program that gives vehicle owners a whole host of car care and protection services including a 5-year/60,000-mile fully transferable new vehicle limited warranty and a 10-year/100,000 powertrain limited warranty.
Then there is Hyundai’s Assurance Connected Care that is found on vehicles with the Blue Link system.
This delivers such things as SOS emergency assistance, automatic collision notification, maintenance reports, monthly diagnostic reports, and enhanced roadside assistance.
All of these programs, as well as Hyundai’s now famous warranty offer drivers real peace of mind after they drive off the lot.
