Hyundai Motor America Sales Figures For The Month Of May 2021
Hyundai Motor America announces a sales figures for the month of May 2021.
The South Korean carmaker released their new car sales figures for the month of May and they are proud to report the sales of 90,017 units, an increase of a staggering 56% compared to the same month a year ago.
As the SUV and crossover craze continues, May 2021 was in particular good for Hyundai’s sedans which have increased their sales by no less than 105% from May 2020.
Also performing well were Hyundai eco friendly cars with sales increase of 887%, while SUVs were up 34%. Eco-friendly vehicles, such as the Ioniq EV, Tucson hybrid and Elantra hybrid accounted for 11% of the retail volume, according to Hyundai USA.
With the upcoming release of slightly upgraded 2022 model year Hyundai vehicles during the coming weeks, Hyundai US sales are expected to shine through-out the year 2021.

Leading the sales last month was the brand new Hyundai Tucson crossover, followed by newly launched Elantra compact sedan with sales of 18.848 and 18.821, respectively.
Taking the third spot among the top selling Hyundai vehicles was the Sonata midsize sedan with 13.487 units sold.
The fourth top seller was the Santa Fe SUV, which has recently received a mid-cycle makeover, which has made it more competitive in the hotly anticipated midsize SUV / crossover segment. The sales table below showcases how many Santa Fe SUVs have been sold last month.
The table also reveals other top performers including the Kona compact SUV and Palisade 7-seater SUV with sales of 9.731 and 8.051 units, respectively.
It appears that Hyundai also increased the shipments of their entry-level SUV, the Venue, which has recorded the sales of 3.615 units, an increase of 113% from a year ago.
The only vehicle in the Hyundai’s US line-up that did not improve its sales was the Veloster coupe with a 64% decrease in sales.
