Hyundai, Kia to launch 4 new models in Korea by the end of 2012
Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group plans to launch 4 new models in South Korea by the end of 2012!
Hyundai-Kia sales momentum is expected to continue throughout this year as the carmaker plans to launch several new models including the updated versions of Equus flagship sedan, Tucson CUV, Sorento crossover vehicle and Kia K3 compact sedan.
Let’s take a closer look at the upcoming Hyundai and Kia vehicles that will make their official domestic market premieres over the next couple of months.
Kia Sorento facelift -Kia’s best-selling crossover vehicle is expected to get a revised front fascia with fully redesigned bumper, grille and headlamps. Inside, the 2013 Sorento CUV will benefit from higher grade materials, as well as some minor styling tweaks.
According to latest rumors, the upcoming Sorento facelift will get a brand-new 4-cyl. turbo engine from the 2013 Santa Fe CUV. Expect the new Sorento to hit the South Korean showroom-floor late July.
Hyundai Equus facelift – Following the Sorento facelift will be the high-end Equus luxury sedan, which been selling extremely well in the United States. The 2013 Hyundai Equus is expected to receive some styling tweaks up front and rear.
The Equus luxury sedan will also get various new technologies and safety features including adaptive LED headlights, radar-based blind-spot detection system, head-up-display and others.
Hyundai Tucson facelift – the popular Tucson CUV, known also as Hyundai ix35 in Europe, will also receive a mid-cycle styling makeover. Further details at this point are scarce, but you can expect the Tucson facelift to appear at Hyundai’s South Korean dealerships towards the end of the year.
Kia K3 sedan – Kia K3 is expected to make its official Korean premiere in the fourth quarter of 2012. Bulit on the same platform as Hyundai Elantra, the new K3 will replace the Forte sedan when it hits the South Korean roads.
