Hyundai HB20X Crossover Colors, Engine, Transmission Specs
Hyundai Motor Brasil arrived at the Sao Paulo International Motor Show and proceeded to unveil the latest addition to their lineup.
The 2013 HB20X is a model that will only be available in Brazil, and signifies Hyundai’s goal of exapnding their global sales.
The HB20X crossover won’t hit showrooms until the eary part of 2013, but it has already been described as the perfect addition to the Brazil-exclusive libe of family cars.
The HB in the name stands for Hyundai Brasil, with the 20X joining the 2013 HB20 which was launched last month. Hyundai will also be releasing a sedan version of the car during the first quarter of 2013.
Hyundai Motor’s Vice Chairman Euisun Chung spoke of Hyundai has devoted many years to identifying exactly what the Brazilian consumer wants in a new vehicle.
Speaking at the motor show, Ghung also said that he was confident that the HB family of vehicles will not just meet the demands of the consumer, but exceed them.
He pointrd to the design, finish, and fuel efficiency as the majoe selling points of the model. He went on to say that the addition of the new production plant was an indicator of
Hyundai’s commitment to the people of Brazil and their goal to become a major player in the global economy.
He said that it was Hyundai’s goal to be a major partner with Brazil, woith hopes that they can contribute to the economic and social competitiveness of the country.
Every single HB model will come from the new production plany in Piracicaba, Sao Paulo state and will only be available at dedicated dealerships.
HB20X design, engine specs
The upcoming Hyundai HB20X crossover is based on the HB20 hatchback, but has some features that very much set it apart, with many of the changes in design and performance added to support an more active outdoor lifestyle.
The front end gets a new look, with a redesigned bumper and hexagonal grille, both of which encapsulate the Fluidic Sculpture design priciples.
Black bezel and chrome details have been added to the headlights to add a more sophisticated look. The fog lamos also get a makeover in an effort to give them a stronger impression.
The side of the all-new HB20X differs little from the robust hatchback design. There are some very cool novelty touches, such as the side black molding that wraps around the entire body.
The roof bars are perfect for families that like to hit the road on the weekend and need a little extra luggage space. It may be a family vehichle, but the HB20X get a sporty look, thanks to the 15-inch dark gray alloy wheels.
In the back, the car get a redesigned bumper in addition to the super cool looking lamps that were already a big hit on the HB20.
The interior of the HB20X also gets a high quality look, with exclusive items such as sports pedals, chrome finishing, and blue double stiches on the seats and steering wheel.
The HB20X will have Hyundai’s GAMMA 1.6L 16V FLEX engine with 128 horsepower engine under the hood. The engine, which features a Continuous Variable Vavle Timing technology, is the most powerful engine in the segment.
Customers of the new crossover vehicle will be able to choose between 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmissions.
