Hyundai developing a bulletproof presidental Equus limo
According to some reports from South Korea, Hyundai has been developing the countrys first native bulletproof presidental limousine, based on its latest luxury sedan.
Our source close to Hyundai revealed that the bulletproof limo will be styled around the Equus sedan and will be used for protocol purposes for key government figures including President Lee Myung-bak.
South Korean president, Mr. Lee Myung-bak currently uses Mercedes-Benz S600 Pullman Guard and a BMW Security 760Li, having five to 10 cars of each model in stock.
“Most of the heads of other car-manufacturing states use bulletproof cars made in their own countries. It doesn’t make sense that the world’s fifth largest auto-manufacturing country is still using foreign-made bulletproof cars, and that is why Hyundai is working on the project,” said an industry source.
Would have been available earlier, then Barack Obama could have used the bulletproof Hyundai Equus limousine to replace its old Cadillac One. But since the vehicle has been under development, Obama had to go with more traditional Cadillac brand, which has been honored to provide a new Presidential Limousine for the second time in a row.
This is how the presidental limousine will look like… see the pic below.
