All-new 2011 Hyundai Equus sedan makes US premiere
The all-new 2011 Hyundai Equus sedan makes US premiere at the 2010 New YOrk Auto Show.
Hyundai is all set to launch its all-new flagship sedan, the prestigious Equus sedan, which boasts advanced technology, impressive performance and attractive design that can rival the best luxury sedans in the world, including the BMW 7-series, Mercedes S-class and Lexus’ flagship model, the LS 460.
The new premium sedan promises a driving experience like no other Hyundai vehicle before.
As Hyundai introduces the Equus in select areas this summer, John Krafcik, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America says that Equus takes Hyundai’s formula for intelligent luxury to a new level.
“We have applied the lessons in engineering excellence we have learned with Genesis to the Equus, while adding a new level of customer experience that will further differentiate our take on luxury from the traditional premium brands.” said John Krafcik.
The all-new Equus features the world-class rear-wheel-drive architecture and is powered by the award-winning 4.6L Tau V8 engine, which generates impressive 385 horsepower on premium fuel or 378 horsepower on regular fuel.
Using premium fuel, the Tau V8 engine actually creates more horsepower than Lexus LS460 or Mercedes-Benz S550, which is amazing. The combination of the potent 4.6L V8 engine and ZF’s 6-speed automatic transmission allows the Equus to jump to 60 mph in less than 6.4 seconds!
Making true of its promise to continually improve its product line, Hyundai Equus is 7.2 inches longer than the Genesis and boasts of an outstanding 52/48 front-to-rear weight distribution that promises exceptional handling and a more refined steering and handling experience for its stiff, lightweight body.
With such competitiveness against other luxury sedans, what’s truly interesting is that the Equus is more affordable than the others of its class. This luxury Hyundai will sell only at US$50.000 to US$60,000 compared with the 2010 Lexus LS460 at $65,380 and 2010 Mercedes Benz S550 at $91,600.

Flexible and adjustable seats are designed to provide ultimate riding comfort and safety. The driver also enjoys a stable driving experience with electronically controlled air suspension, which promises additional body control.
