Hyundai is set to challenge the luxury car establishment in the Middle East with the release of the new 2014 Hyundai Centennial.
The new vehicle comes with an interior that has been greatly enhanced, cutting edge technological features added, and a pair of high performance GDI engines that are sure to impress.
There are few changes made to the exterior, but it’s quite a different story on the inside where the dashboard has been completely redesigned. The seats are more luxurious and comfortable than ever, and the addition of Noise Reduction makes for a quiet ride.
Premium features include Head-Up Display, Blind Spot Detection, Shift by Wire and a Haptic Steering Wheel.
The car also delivers on power and performance, with a choice between 3.8 V6 GDi or 5.0 V8 GDi engines.

Equus Sales, Resale Value
The flagship vehicle has already had a good amount of success in the GCC and Levant countries, with sales increasing by 147% in 2012.
In North America, research conducted by ALG, a major automotive industry forecaster, showed that the Centennial (known as Equus in the USA) holds it value better than competitors such as the BMW 7-Series, the Mercedes Benz S-Class and the Audi A8.
That was all before Hyundai enhanced the Centennial so that it would come more into line with their “Modern Premium” take on luxury, comfort, and technology.
The big changes can be found in the interior, particularly on the dashboard, which has undergone a beautiful redesign.
It features a premium clock designed by design firm, Innes & Lister Inc., as well as a new center console that is much cleaner thanks to the new Shift by Wire gear lever. The use of high class leather and wood throughout the interior make it exude luxury and style.
As you might expect from a car in the luxury segment, the new 2014 Hyundai Centennial delivers when it comes to comfort and convenience, which even extends to the incredibly comfortable rear seats.
Passengers in the rear get the added bonus of having dual 9.2inch LCD rear monitor entertainment screens and can control their travel experience via a new DIS system.
Hyundai wants to ensure a smooth comfortable ride, which is why the electronically-controlled multi-link suspension has been fine-tuned. There is also an air-suspension option available on the 2014 Centennial.
Other touches that improve the driving experience include improved tire wheel rigidity, redesigned wing mirrors that reduce noise, and quieter engines, to name but a few.
V6, V8 GDI engines
This is also the first time that the Centennial will have Hyundai’s acclaimed GDI engines under the hood.
The top of the line, award-winning TAU V8 5.0-litre GDi unit is the star of the show, delivering maximum power of 430ps, a top speed of 240kph and 0 to 100kph in 5.8 seconds.
Not too far behind is the 334ps Lambda V6 3.8-litre GDi engine, with both options mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Many of the great features that appear in the Centennial are making their debut appearance, such as the Head-Up Display, which shows speed and navigation information on the windscreen so that drivers can see it while still focusing on the road. Also included for the first time is the Blind Spot Detection system.
The Haptic Steering Wheel delivers a touchscreen type experience akin to that of a smartphone, while the All Around View Monitor utilizes small cameras placed around the vehicle to deliver a 360° view of the area around the car, which helps make parking a breeze.
The all new 2014 Centennial comes with an upgraded cruise control system, as well as a state-of-the-art information and entertainment system.
Drivers can choose between a TFT Cluster with 7 inch screen, or a Full TFT LCD Cluster, providing enhanced vehicle information and featuring superior styling and an all-new 9.2inch screen
