  1. Paric says:

i dont get it. it looks as big as the accent hatch is already

  2. Ash says:

It’s for european and asian markets. Hyundai designs different cars for different markets – the Accent isn’t generally sold in Europe for example

  3. attaboy says:

will be renamed Elantra Touring in North-Am
    maybe with a 1.8GDi or 2.0 GDi

  4. attaboy says:

Accent is sold in Russian market…Hyundai Solaris not the Unix Solaris!

  5. streetfighterguy says:

Would be nice if they left the diesel in the car for the american market.

  6. NewWave says:

The hatchback known as Hyundai Accent in South Korea is sold in China under the name of Verna and in Russia under the name Solaris.

  7. ale says:

hyundai must eliminate hyundai hatchback accent for try to upgrade again i30, i30 its better thant accent hatchback

  8. Heywood Joblome says:

ale;, What sense does that make? In most Countries, Hyundai does not market both the i30 and the Accent Models together. Naturally, Korea will get both, Europe will get the 130 and North America will get the cheaper (de-contented) Accent. At least that has been their (past) marketing plan.

  9. Alex says:

Heywood, the i20 is basically the European market Accent.
North America will most likely get the new i30 badged as an Elantra Touring and tweaked for American tastes.

    PS
The Accent is badged as the Verna in SKDM IIRC?

  10. Heywood Joblome says:

Alex; Thanks for informing me on the differences between the i20 and i30. On the matter of eventually “tweaking” the i30 to rebadge it as the Elantra Hatchback, for “American ” tastes, I gather you mean (de-contenting) it with less available features and of course deleting the Daytime Running Lights, DRL`s, and removing the Emergency Spare Tire & Jack tool it, correct?Just saying……

  11. bd says:

The i20 is quite diff. from the Accent, as is the i30 from the Elantra.

In markets like Korea and Australia, they get both with the vehicles built primarily for the Euro market being seen as higher-end models.

  12. Alex says:

No Heywood, I meant giving it the engine and [softer] suspension from the North American Elantra.
