2021 Hyundai Kona Comes Available With 6 Exterior Colors

The unique styling of the Hyundai Kona makes it a small SUV that is hard to miss when you are out and about.

It certainly also helps that the colors used on the exterior of the current 2021 Hyundai Kona are so cool, with 6 different options to choose from.

Depending on the trim level, you also get a choice of 3 different 2-tone color options.

We thought it might be a good idea to tell you all about those color options, both inside and out, as well as the trim levels they are available on.

Exterior color options based on trim level

The 2021 Hyundai Kona comes available in 6 different trim levels, the SE, SEL, SEL Plus, Night, Limited and Ultimate.

Listed here are all exterior color options available on each Hyundai Kona trim level.

SE

The base model of Hyundai Kona offers a choice of 6 different paint shades. Those include Chalk White, Sonic Silver, Pulse Red, Thunder Gray, Ultra Black and refreshing Surf Blue.

SEL

The 2021 Kona SEL is only available in the Chalk White, Thunder Gray and Ultra Black single tone colors. In addition to that, this trim level also comes with a choice of 3 two-tone color options, which are:

• Sonic Silver with Black Roof
• Surf Blue with Dark Gray Roof
• Pulse Red with Black Roof

SEL Plus

The 2021 Hyundai Kona SEL Plus sitst right in the middle of the trim level range and offers 6 single tone colors. Those are the Ultra Black, Chalk White, Pulse Red, Sonic Silver, Thunder Gray and Surf Blue.

Night special edition

The 2021 Hyundai Kona Night trim level comes available with some nice additions, including a set of sportier alloy wheels. In terms of exterior paint options, the Kona Night color palette features Ultra Black, Sonic White and Thunder Gray colors.

Limited & Ultimate

The 2021 Kona Limited and Ultimate trim levels sit at the top of the range and are available in all 6 exterior colors! No 2-tone options are offered on the range-topping trims, though.

Interior color options of Hyundai Kona 2021

Black serves as the standard interior color in the 2021 Hyundai Kona and is used on both the seats and dashboard to deliver a sleek interior design. If you want a little break from all that black, you can opt for a splash of grey amid all the dark.

Depending on your choice of trim level and exterior color, you might also be able to go with a black interior with lime seat stitching and lime-painted inserts. This option is available on trim levels.

While there are certainly plenty of color options to choose from, there are some who would like to see more, with orange and purple at the top of the wish list.

Can I get Hyundai Kona in orange color?

This is a fair question when you consider that the Kona’s sister model, the Kia Soul, has been available in orange color for quite some time. It’s certainly a popular option, however, starting from the 2021 model year, this attractive paint option is not available in the Kona paint range any more.

Lime Twist color axed for the 2021 model year

Hyundai Motor America no longer offers the 2021 Kona in Lime Twist exterior color. It has been available until the introduction of the 2021 model year. The carmaker hasn’t given us any reasons why they have excluded this color from the range.

How about a purple Hyundai Kona?

Purple is a hue that would almost certainly be popular with female car buyers, but like orange, this shade is not available, at least, not yet.

Hyundai are known for making changes and listening to their target audience, so don’t be surprised if some new exterior colors are made available down the line.

For now, though, there are still 6 great exterior colors to choose from. Combine that with unique styling and some great engine options and you get an SUV that is always a smart choice.
