Hyundai Ioniq 2016 – UK Specs, Pricing, On-Sale Date Revealed
The 2016 Hyundai Ioniq hybrid / EV is set to go on sale in the UK market in mid-November, and the Koreans have now officially announced the pricing and specifications for all three of the electrified powertrains.
Hyundai Ioniq SE
The 2016 Ioniq Hybrid SE will serve as the base model, and will start at £19,995.
This Hyundai hybrid vehicle comes equipped with standard features such as the DAB with Bluetooth, 15-inch alloy wheels, Rear Parking Sensors with Rear View Camera, and Cruise Control.
Active safety features which come standard include Lane Keep Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and individual Tire Pressure Monitoring.
Hyundai Ioniq Premium
The Ioniq hybrid Premium starts at £21,795.
It has all the standard equipment of the Ioniq SE, but also adds heated front seats and steering wheel, keyless entry with push button start, 7-inch LCD display for the instrument cluster, and Bi-Xenon headlights with LED rear combination lights.
You also get integrated Tom Tom navigation services, wireless phone charging (where supported, and an Infinity sound system that supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Hyundai Ioniq Premium SE
Staring at £23,595 is the Ioniq Premium SE, which is the top of the range model. Comfort is well served here, with heated and ventilated front leather seats, heated steering wheel, heated outer rear seats, and a power driver’s seat with Integrated Memory System.
This model rides on 17-inch alloys, and has safety features that include Blind Spot Detection, Front Parking Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
Hyundai Ioniq hybrid colors
There are 7 different exterior colors available, and they are Polar White, Phantom Black, Demitasse Brown, Platinum Silver, Iron Grey, Phoenix Orange, and Marina Blue. The interior features lava stone with blue accents, which is a rather upscale look.
All electric Hyundai Ioniq EV
Prices for the Hyundai Ioniq Electric start at £28.895 for the Premium trim, which closely mirrors the Premium Hybrid.
Standard features on this model include 16-inch alloys, Auto Wipers with Rain Sensor, Advanced Smart Cruise Control, and LED headlight and rear combination lights. Integrated satellite navigation has been made available across the IONIQ range.
The Ioniq Electric Premium SE mirrors the Hybrid version and starts at £30,795. Standard equipment on this model includes a heated leather steering wheel, heated rear seats, heated and ventilated leather front seats, Blind Spot Detection, power driver’s seat with Integrated Memory System, 16-inch alloys, and front parking sensors.
The £4,500 Plug-In Car Grant is expected to be made available for the all electric model, which potentially passes on some real savings to the consumer.
Also included across the IONIQ range is the ability to rapid charge, which means getting an 80% charge in about 33 minutes using a 50kW CCS Combo Rapid public charger.
You can also use a traditional outlet using a standard ICCB Charging Cable. Other features that help with driver engagement and efficiency include column mounted paddles and regenerative braking.
Ioniq EV exterior color options
The Ioniq Electric range comes in 6 different exterior colors, which are Phantom Black, Platinum Silver, Polar White. Phoenix Orange, Marina Blue, and the Electric Exclusive Blazing Yellow. Copper accents are used with the lava stone exterior color in this line.
Dealership arrival
The new Hyundai Ioniq hybrid will hit dealerships across the UK on October 13, while the Ioniq electric car will be limited to just 27 dealerships to begin with, followed by a full rollout in 2017.
