New Hyundai Equus enters Top Ten Summer Sizzlers list
The 2011 Hyundai Equus has recently received a special award from Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com. The Equus made it to the popular automotive website’s Top 10 Summer Sizzlers list, which is a listing of all-new 2011 early arrival models.
Competing with the best luxury sedans in the world such as BMW 7-series and Mercedes Benz S-class, the all-new Hyundai Equus boasts of its world-class, rear-wheel-drive architecture and powerful, award-winning 4.6L Tau V8 engine, which has so far impressed a large number of automobile reviewers. With top-class amenities, advanced technologies and luxury design, this is definitely Hyundai’s new flagship model.
Scott Margason, Product Planning director for Hyundai Motor America, talks about the Equus: “With its state-of-the-art technologies, attractive exterior styling and unparalleled combination of value and luxury, the all-new Equus will attract a new type of buyer to the Hyundai brand”. These all-new 2011 models aim to attract buyers and automotive enthusiasts, which is why car makers all came up with the most diverse and intensive product launch schedules in the history of the automotive industry. Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com’s Top 10 Summer Sizzlers list singles out the 10 new automobiles that are most likely to attract the most car buyers in 2011.

Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com, said: “From redesigned longtime success-stories to all-new entrants to the marketplace, many hot 2011 model-year cars are coming through the product pipeline this summer. It’s never been a better time to be in the market for a new car, because auto manufacturers have stepped up their game to offer more choices than ever.” Other cars that made it to the Top 10 list are Chevrolet Cruze, BMW 5-Series Sedan, Cadillac CTS/CTS-V Coupe, Ford Fiesta and Jeep Grand Cherokee. Other five models making it to the Top Sizzler list this year include Honda CR-Z, Saab 9-5c, Subaru Impreza WRX/STI, Honda CR-Z and Mazda 2.

Is the Equus already available in the US? If not – any official launch date given by Hyundai?

They said “weeks” which means more than one week and less than one month…

What happened to the eight speed that was being talked about?

It’s still under development Mike and will likely arrive along with the 5.0L V8 in late Q2 or Q3 2011 as a 2012 model.
