Just recently launched Hyundai i45 sedan, known also as Hyundai Sonata worldwide, receives prestigious design award.

A Design Award was recently given to the all-new Hyundai i45 sedan by the Australian International Design Awards in the coveted Automotive and Transport category for 2010.
The Australian International Design Awards honors innovative and excellent designs both in Australia and internationally. The Awards, as presented by Standards Australia, is Australia’s most important program in evaluating automotive designs.

The program selected 10 finalists, which included cars from both luxury and mainstream car manufacturers such as compact cars, SUVs/CUVs and sports coupes. One of the SUVs is Hyundai ix35, which was awarded with a Design Mark, while the Hyundai i45 was the only five-seat mid-size passenger sedan that made it as a finalist.

Hyundai is promoting its unique idea of a “Fluidic Sculpture” as implemented in its new models, including the Hyundai i45, which was designed and created at Hyundai Design North America, in Irvine, California.

Hyundai’s latest design philosophy embodies a unique combination of quality and substance from every angle. It is because of Hyundai’s insatiable passion to deliver exciting and attractive designs that its new i45 mid-size sedan was created.

Andre Hudson, Hyundai Design North America’s design manager, talks about Hyundai’s “Fluidic Sculpture.” He said, “Fluidic Design is a Hyundai signature, a design language which will appear on future Hyundai volume models. It gives our range a unique and premium identity and defines Hyundai as a modern, progressive company.”

About the i45, Hudson said, “With i45, we wanted to deliver a strikingly modern shape, yet accommodate the wide variety of practical needs which sedan buyers require met.”
Because of Hyundai’s dedication and rigorous approach in designing and testing its cars, the i45 was meticulously developed from the ground up with painstaking attention to each detail in order to ensure that every part of the car will deliver its purpose and function. Hyundai maintains a rigorous work environment so that it can guarantee its fundamental values of quality, safety and reliability in each of its automobiles in the production line.

Hyundai executives were very proud to receive this prestigious Design Award. Oliver Mann, marketing director of Hyundai Motor Company Australia, said, “We are very proud to have been awarded this accolade for i45 by the Australian International Design Awards. This is a highly respected design award and we are delighted to have had not one but two products listed as finalists. We see this title as an enormous compliment to our design team.” With this award, Hyundai can lay claim to what some of the motoring press people have been calling the i45 – the Toyota Camry Killer.
