Twin Awards for the Hyundai Genesis and the all-new Hyundai Tucson
Hyundai cars sweep in more awards from reputable organizations. This time it’s the turn of the Hyundai Genesis sedan and the all-new 2010 Tucson crossover.
Hyundai Tucson and Genesis sedan received the 2010 AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards in their respective categories. The Genesis is actually a repeat winner. It once again took home the title “Aspirational Luxury Car Class” over Mercedes, BMW and Lexus, among others. On the other hand, the new Tucson that was just launched late last year earned the top honor in the “Compact Crossover SUV Class.”a
AutoPacific’s Vehicle Satisfaction Award measures how satisfied a car owner is with his or her newly purchased car or light truck. Car owners were made to answer questions based on 48 car attributes that made them decide to buy the car and become satisfied with their decision.
AutoPacific, the California-based “Authoritative Automobile Research and Insight” company, surveyed and analyzed the responses of 42,000 new car owners. The company boasts that its Vehicle Satisfaction Award is the industry benchmark for an objective study on how much new car owners are satisfied with their vehicles.
The president of AutoPacific, George Peterson said, “Vehicles that score highest in the Vehicle Satisfaction Awards are delivering value and satisfaction across a wide range of attributes. The winners perform well in 48 separate categories that objectively measure the ownership experience.”
“The AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards are an important indicator that we’ve hit the mark when it comes to pleasing our buyers – a very encouraging sign as we bring new models like the all-new 2011 Sonata to market this year, and prepare for more to come,” said Scott Margason, product planning director of Hyundai Motor America. “Hyundai is revamping its entire fleet with exciting products like Genesis and Tucson leading a wave of new model introductions from Hyundai and customers are taking notice.”
The Hyundai Genesis is built on the performance-driven, rear-wheel-drive architecture of Hyundai. It is boosted by two powertrains, the Lambda 3.8-liter V6 engine and Hyundai’s Tau 4.6-liter V8 engine. Hyundai technology packed inside the Genesis can rival and outclass more expensive luxury sedans. In addition, the Genesis features an XM NavTraffic, Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFLS), Lexicon® audio systems and electronically active head restraints.
Some of its standard features include cruise control, automatic headlights, leather seat-upholstery and steering wheel, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, heated front seats with power adjustments, power windows, door locks and mirrors, remote keyless entry and starting, and a 7-speaker audio system with XM satellite radio
Originally intended to compete with the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes E-Class, Infiniti M, and Lexus GS, Hyundai Genesis has received tons of important international awards, which include the 2009 North American Car of the Year, which was the first for Hyundai, the 2009 Canadian Car of the Year, and the 2009 Car of the Year by China’s Autoworld magazine, among others.
On the other hand the revolutionary new Tucson is holding up its own. As Hyundai’s first vehicle produced among its seven all-new models by the end of 2011 in alignment with Hyundai’s 24/7 initiative, the Tucson boasts of its “Fluidic Sculpture” design, roomier cabin, extra cargo space, excellent fuel economy, and state-of-the-art technology.
