Hyundai to boost production of hot-selling 2011 Sonata sedan
Hyundai plans to ramp up production of the hot-selling 2011 Sonata sedan!
Since its launch earlier this year, Hyundai’s 2011 Sonata sedan has been in a very high demand, so it’s not a surprise that Hyundai will ram-up production of its best-selling vehicle.
It appears that this move came after several Hyundai dealers reported shortages of the mid-sized car. Many Hyundai dealerships also urged Hyundai to supply more Tucson crossovers to meet increased demand.
“We knew Tucson would be a problem because it’s a global vehicle, but if you had told me Sonata would be a problem, I would have told you you are crazy.” said Hyundai Motor America sales chief Dave Zuchowski. ”
Hyundai Motor America recently reported that the sales of new Tucson have jumped more than 100 percent in April. Hyundai’s two Montgomery-made models, the 2011 Sonata sedan and the Santa Fe, also recorded impressive sales gains compared to a year ago. Sonata’s sales last month jumped 57 percent to 18.536, while Santa Fe’s sales were up 59 percent to 5.917 units.
Combined, Hyundai dealers sold 44.023 vehicles in the United States in April, up 30 percent from the same month in 2009. Of this figure, 24.453 vehicles were made in MontÂgomery!
