I could be wrong but I am pretty sure this is the foreign version of the 2011 Sonata, I found another picture of the new Accent from an autoshow, http://www.autotodays.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/2011-accent.jpg

This is Accent Sedan. That pic you have is Veloster, and the jury is out completely on whether that will be an Accent or Elantra hatch.
March 28th, 2010 at 1:15 am
Seems like Hyundai took Veloster’s headlights and put it in Accent which looks good on a small car like this. I wonder will the Veloster turns out to be the Accent hatch?
March 28th, 2010 at 1:37 am
OK, if they’re to the point of taking this to ICN to shoot a commercial, as some other sites have suggested, shouldn’t this be coming as a 2011 model? The US would certainly be due a new Accent by then. And glad to see the Accent is no longer on bland.
March 28th, 2010 at 1:41 am
Yeah Exactly Derrick. Accent Sedan is due for replacement second half of 2010. Its a 5 year car, 2006-2010. This Accent Above=2011-2015.
March 28th, 2010 at 2:40 am
One change only, and the rest is a masterpiece in small car design. You should change the Mirrors. Give it the Delta Shaped Fluidic Mirrors.
Once you do that, this little car will be timeless, trust me!!!
March 28th, 2010 at 3:58 am
Wow I’m impressed. Hyundai no longer has an ugly car in its family. Okay maybe the Entourage…
March 28th, 2010 at 2:38 pm
Entourage is discontinued since 2009
March 28th, 2010 at 6:14 pm
I find this 2012 Hyundai Accent quite interesting. it’s a huge improvement over the current model, but not as good looking as Ford’s new Fiesta. In my opinion, it lacks some chrome details, plus, I’d change the grille with a nicer one.
I’ll wait for some better pics to appear…
March 28th, 2010 at 6:21 pm
There are a few threads on other sites saying this is a shot of the elantra? But those people are still uncertain as well in their guessing.
March 28th, 2010 at 9:19 pm
There’s a Model with Chrome Floating around Accent Owner.
See: http://www.accentplanet.org/2010/03/next-gen-accent-with-chrome-trimmed.html:
The Chrome Grille is probably going to be on mid and upper trim models like the Sonata.
The Fiesta Sedan looks Goofy, disproportioned, and cheap, while the Accent Sedan doesnt. Read my Fiesta Review over at the Accent Planet. I sure wasnt impressed, considering the hoopla that car gets. The paint on that car is horrible.
I expect the Accent Hatch to look very sweet, whether its Veloster or anything else.
Screw Ford, lets do our own thing by providing upmarket looking cars at affordable prices.
March 28th, 2010 at 9:21 pm
There’s also an Accent Model with Chrome Mirrors too.

They dont know what they are taling about streetfighter. This is definately 100% Accent. Elantra has a longer side profile, and the rear of the roof is more elogated and bubbly. It actually reminds me of a Chrysler Concorde which is a good thing, since the Chyrsler Concorde has been rated to be the best looking car of that era. They dont want it to be Accent that’s the problem. They think its too good to be Accent.
Compare the Accent shot above to these Elantra pics, youll see what I mean.

By the way, I dont think the current Accent is ugly. Its has 2 nice looking bodies, but the Grille they chose didnt agree with those bodies.
Considering Accent’s absolutely fantastic sales= #2nd place in Subcompact Cars in America, many others must feel the same way as I do about it.
March 28th, 2010 at 10:13 pm
To me the Accent was the most appealing Pre “Fludic Sculpture” Hyundais to my eyes. This is a 4500-7500 month small car and in America thats sweet, and about as good as you can hope for with any car in that class. The only way you can get a small car to sell like they do in Europe, is not just market forces, but take the car to the next level and make it affordable. The Accent could be #1 in sales for these reasons:
1. Nissan Versa=the number #1 American B car is moving up to C segment when its gets replaced this year.
2. Nissan Versa has serious reliability problems and many Versa owners will be looking to jump ship to another brand.
3. The Micra B-Segment is smaller than the Versa.
4. The Juke B-Segment Crossover is unconventional, and it might turn people off.
The Pre “Fluidic” Hyundais:
1. The old Tuscon looked ok, but it was underdone.
2. The Entourage looked ok, but Hyundai shouldnt do minivans, and the Entourage like its KIA sister had reliability problems.
3. The Tib was ok from 2003+, but like the Accent the Grille messed it up.
4. The Elantra Looks ok, but it looks a little unfinished and it looks more like a car for girls and old people=which the Elantra in terms of sales well is a car for …….
5. The Santa Fe, well Im going to be nice so I wont say nothing at all but there hasnt been a Santa Fe that compelled me to buy based on its looks.
6. The Veracruz looks sweet, but that Euro grille isnt working for it.
7. Azera looks decent, and Id have one all chromed up but I think it needs more bulk. If any Hyundai needs to look more Porky its the Azera.
8. The Genesis Products are ok, but they arent pretty. They were too conservative about the look. On the interior and Exterior. Like the Current Gen Accent the grilles messed the car up. The rear seat of the Gen Coupe has ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE head room, and since this is going up against the Infiniti G that’s not a good thing at all. The Coupe Grille looks too cheap, and the Sedan Grille looks like something a Chinese car company would do. They need to just Chrome Hexagon the Genesis lineup, and make it more Fluidic. John Krafcik recently Killed the idea of a 3rd Luxury Brand in America in a recent inteview when asked a question anyway about car placement.
9. Im not a Sonata fan to be honest though I like the current gen model. The old Sonata was too dry looking and competent, too competent for its own good. It needed some flavor and spice back then.
10. The Equus, well the Grille looks Horrible on it. They should have a chrome Hexagon. Considering the fast back body style of the car it needs a rake of some kind on its sides, preferably fluidic.
That’s without me even diving into the interiors.
March 28th, 2010 at 10:27 pm
The More I think about it, if it wasnt for money, Id GDI Tuscon and axe Sonata. Many Americans with families under 40 arent buying midsized sedans. They are buying CUVs instead. Midsized Sedans are outdated, and with CUV that have more space, and just as good fuel economy whats the point.
However, many single women and older families buy the things still, but as crazy as this might sound in the long term Hyundai should consider getting rid of the Sonata or doing something else to it.
Hyundai already knows they face risk of Sedan VS CUV cannibalization, and that’s why they punked out on not giving Tuscon GDI.
I think Hyundai should do an experiment with Sonata and Tuscon by giving Tuscon GDI and see what happens. They cant half ass do the experiment either. They must advertise that Tuscon gets 35 MPG+.
March 28th, 2010 at 10:35 pm
Its almost like Hyundai is trying to force Sonata down people’s throats. If the American car buyer wants a CUV that can give them 35 MPG instead of a midsized sedan that does the same thing, then that’s where your priorities should go.
This about this, instead of Camry/IS and Accord/TSX in the future, it could be all about Sportage and Tuscon. Tuscon is the undisputed top selling Hyundai product in the world, make it the top seller here in America by giving it GDI.
Younger Americans expect for the short chicks want good CUVs, and not MOMMY’s Camry, Sonata, Accord, Sebring, etc….
March 28th, 2010 at 10:54 pm
OK, is the Entourage still around somewhere? I found an ad for a 2010 one for sale in Canada supposedly. The HMAservice site has a shop manual for a 2010. A 2011 with the 3.5L V6 has even been added now (guess there will definitely be a 2011 Sedona and we know now what engine it’ll have). But where will it be sold? The HyundaiCanada site doesn’t list Entourage as part of the line.

This new Accent will make its debut by the end of April on Beijing china-autoshow.This car was first designed for China market,we’ve been working on it for over 1 year and a half.
Yes,it looks great, you will see the whole picture next month
March 29th, 2010 at 5:02 am
Hmm, looks ‘interesting’ but front end looks a tough large – perhaps it is just the angle of the pic. I’ll reserve final judgement until I see official pics..
March 29th, 2010 at 8:41 pm
My guy from China is right on the Money.
Accent will debut in Beijing in 4 weeks.

March 29th, 2010 at 9:13 pm
4 Lug nuts on the wheel, that how I know that it is Accent.
March 29th, 2010 at 10:56 pm
I like the fact that Hyundai uses Accent as cop cars in many Asian Cities. It will push the car to even newer heights over the years. VW/Audi develops its cars that way.
March 30th, 2010 at 2:02 am
@ hyundaismoke…
axe the sonata..what are you crazy…the sonata is hyundai’s bread and butter…without that theyd be nowhere…seriously…i’ve reading some of your comments here and on other sights…and you usually have good points on things going on around hyundai…but axing the sonata…now thats just plain crazy…btw…the new sonata is beautiful…seems like a real nice car…years ahead of toyota and honda…for cheap
March 30th, 2010 at 2:04 am
@ Derrick…maybe the entourage will make its return at the next refresh…imagine it with the current fluidic sculpture thing hyundai has going…and with the current streak they’re on im pretty sure it would be a beaut…that is…aslong as the sedona didnt look the same…
March 30th, 2010 at 2:05 am
It looks like a slick ride for something that starts at like 10k…but im not feeling it…probably the picture…but i dunno
March 30th, 2010 at 3:07 am
Pete, its just a crazy Idea, but that will never happen. i think the Sonata can evolve into something else.
I think it Sonata be turned into more of a niche vehicle after awhile. A Hyundai Techonoligical showpiece, that’s afforable yet as technologically ahead of the curve as Merc E-Class.
I think Tucson will take over as the future volume of that Midsized segment in America.
March 30th, 2010 at 4:47 am
I see what your getting at…but in order for the sonata to become that..hyundai needs to bring out a luxury brand…we also need to axe the azera…or make it good enough to roll with the top cars like equus genesis and the possible new genesis suv…but one advantage of not having a luxury brand is…you can make your cars as good as you want…without having to worry about crossing the line and making ur luxury brand seem expensive …look at say toyota…regular toyotas are bland and boring…but lexus…it’s quite respectable…not my type…but respectable…the reason toyotas are so watered down is cuz of lexus..do u see what im getting at
March 31st, 2010 at 12:41 am
I think Hyundai can slowly grow as a Premium Automaker. I think the Sonata isnt watered down. The fit and Finish gets compared to Lexus. They call it a Lexus at a Toyota Price. I want to see adaptive headlights, and I-drive like system etc…
If Hyundai does build a 3rd Luxury Brand I think it should be even more upmarket. That Equus shows Hyundai can do a Rolls or Bentley on the cheap. I think they should go that route. Hyundai should be about doing Mercedes and Lexus on the cheap.
March 31st, 2010 at 12:49 am
If you look at Hyundai Globally it has more in common with Mercedes than Toyota in its vast range of products. Anything on Wheels Hyundai does it. From Forklifts to Mega Mining Trucks, and Luxury Cars. I think Hyundai can do Mercedes but on the cheap. KIA should do Audi on the cheap, and a potential 3rd Luxury brand should do Bentley on the cheap.
The Younger Generation in America hates Economy cars, lets provide them with affordable Near Luxury cars, and Luxury cars. A generation of being spoiled with Mommy’s SUVs, and Rappers and various other artists bragging about Luxury cars, killed the Basic image of cheap Econo Cars.
From Accent to Genesis the cars have to feel and look classy and very attractive. Look at this Accent, it looks like an A Class Sedan Merc might have done, but think about the price too. This Accent is going to resonate even better with Younger buyers than before.
March 31st, 2010 at 1:20 am
Think about the 2 top selling Subcompacts in America.
1. Nissan Versa. Nissan Versa looks like it wants to be a Baby Infiniti.
2. Hyundai Accent. A Quriky Rendition of a Korean BMW 1 Series.
Accent and Versa look like Luxury small cars. The Yaris and Fit looks Juvenile and Cheap, while MINI is overpriced. I dont know about you, but I see young people with Accents all of the time. The youngest Person I know with a Fit is 37.
April 3rd, 2010 at 7:47 pm
The design makes me wonder if Hyundai will hold its the price where it is now. It looks so upscale.
@HyundaiSmoke
The reason why you do not see many young adults in Fit is because that car is freaking expansive(read – overpriced) for what you get. Old people are buying a ‘Honda’, not a Fit.
Unfortunately, the current generation of Accent is in complete opposite position. Many people still come and buy a ‘Car’, Not a ‘Hyundai’ nor an ‘Accent’ because its affordable. The new one looks promissing though.
April 5th, 2010 at 3:22 am
It will still be cheap in price, and almost criminal. lol!!
Accent GS $13.5K (its $12.9 now), GLS $14.5, and SE $15.5. I bet the pricing will be in that ball park.
April 5th, 2010 at 3:24 am
Sorry that’s $16.5 for the SE.
Sonata is a significant step upmarket from the last car and the pricing went up by 1K. 1K for 3K-4K more worth of stuff is a damm bargain.
May 24th, 2010 at 1:54 pm
I hope that either Hyundai or its sister company Kia introduces a 5 door hatchback like the current Kia Rio5 SX. It affords folks the opportunity of a small versatile mini-wagon that the 4 door sedan does not! No Hatch…No Deal! Make it either as a Accent (Verna) or a Rio….Just make it!
