Hyundai Accent, Elantra and Genesis named “Best Bets”
The Car Book’s “Best Bets” Names Three Hyundai Models as Safest and Best Performing Cars in the United States: The Genesis, Elantra and Accent
Hyundai continues to perform top-class and another well-known literature, The Car Book 2010 “Best Bets”, recognizes this. Jack Gillis, author of “Best Bets” and the Center for Auto Safety, awarded three Hyundai cars, the Genesis, Elantra and Accent, as three of the best and safest cars in the United States today.
The Center for Auto Safety is the country’s leading advocacy group on car safety.
Jack Gills said, “We appreciate the fact that Hyundai has made a significant contribution to improving the market choices for the American car buyer.”
In February 2010 alone, 1,762 Americans bought a Genesis, 7.966 an Elantra, and 5.308 an Accent. “The Car Book” added, “During these most challenging times for the auto industry, the fact that Hyundai vehicles have the quality and features most important to today’s car buyer is a testament to their desire to meet customer needs.”
The Car Book has, for the past 30 years, honored safe and well performing car lines as the best car bets in the country. These cars are most satisfying to American car buyers and users. Each year, the book analyzes new cars and models that are entering the US market and rates them according to 9 key categories, which include crash tests, safety, rollover, preventive maintenance, costs for repair, warranty, fuel economy, complaints, and insurance.
The most important of these categories is, of course, the safety of motorists and car passengers.
Hyundai Motor America is deeply appreciative of and encouraged by the award. Scott Margason, product planning director of Hyundai Motor America said, “Having three Hyundai models named as “Best Bets” by The Car Book demonstrates our continued commitment to excellence in quality, value and design for all of the vehicles in the Hyundai lineup.”
The book is well accepted by vehicle manufacturers, car lovers and motorists all over the United States.
Margason added, “The Genesis, Elantra and Accent are prime examples of models that not only meet but exceed customer expectations in safety and performance.”

They need to get ESC in Accent Hatch the first day of sale for this next one. The Ulsan cars are always the Award Winners, Then the Montgomery cars.

I’ve got a hunch that the veloster may not actually be a coupe like everyone is labelling it. The way they’ve cammo’d the rear passenger area looks to me like they’re concealing something. They’ve really wrapped it to hide any seams and handles from top to bottom.

Its not a coupe. I think its the Accent hatch, but I have conflicting sources that say either its an Accent hatch or an Elantra hatch. Those undisclosed sources closer to Hyundai small car technical centers say its Accent, those undisclosed sources in sales say its Elantra. However, I have confirmed that the Veloster does sit on a Modified Accent/i20 platform.
I havent found out the truth completey on it, but I have found out that Hyundai is understating potential horsepower on some of the new engines.

Hyundai has been charged in some country to not to have announced the correct HorsePower on many models.
The announced hp in theses cars specs was much up than the real hp.
Somes customers complain about it back then!
Comprehensive that Hyundai is conservative about anounced HP !

HS,
Since 2012 is the mandatory date for ESC in the US, don’t think we’ll be seeing any new intros without it.
