Hyundai sales in the US market: November 2009
Hyundai announces 46% sales gain in November 2009 sales. Mid-size Sonata sedan tops the charts with sales of 8.178 units.
Hyundai today reported its latest sales results achieved during the month of November 2009. The automaker announced it has sold 28.045 new vehicles last month or 46 percent more cars than it sold in the same month a year earlier.
According to Hyundai, year-to-date US sales have risen more than 6 percent for a total of 401.267 new cars and SUVs, while automaker also announced that November also marks the eleventh consecutive month of year-over-year gains in retail market share!
With sales of 8.178 units, the 2010 Sonata sedan came back on top after it was overtaken by compact Elantra sedan in October. Compared to the same month last year, Sonata sales increased 52 percent, while Elantra experienced a 88 percent increase.
The facelifted Santa Fe SUV also performed pretty well last month. As a matter of fact, the model has been the second best selling Hyundai vehicle in November, with just a small lead over the fuel-efficient Elantra in third spot. Hyundai sold 6.564 units of Santa Fe SUV last month, which represents a 53 percent sales gain over last year’s numbers.
Hyundai’s sub-compact Accent has seen its sales increase by 93 percent, while Hyundai’s first RWD luxury sedan experienced a 52 percent rise in sales compared to last year.

In a seperate press release today touting that Hyundai has overtaken Honda as the most fuel-efficient car maker based on EPA lab ratings, they also confirmed that at some point at least the YF Sonata will get a turbo. See the press release at the hyundainews.com site under the Corporate tab.

Hats off to Hyundai.
On other website discussions, we have losers who’re unwilling to recognize Hyundai’s success. They bleat something about Hyundai stat-padding their sales figures with fleet sales without taking into account all the new Hyundais we’ve seen on the road lately. Another guy’s comment runs along the lines of here:
“Ok, something odd is going on here. They can’t be bucking the trend, killing EVERY OTHER CAR COMPANY without something odd going on. I know their vehicles are solid, but its as if everyone is buying a Hyundai or Kia these days.
They’ve gotta be doing something odd with the numbers. Massive fleet sales, or selling then dumping someplace else. It is just too much of an anomaly…..
My opinion.”
Education fail. Some people need to turn off the TV and start working on a real education.

Jack99, I see exactly the same comments on some of the other autosites that I visit but I always make it a point slap down those knuckle heads who don’t know their arse from their elbows when it comes to commenting on car brands like Hyundai.
By my reckoning Hyundai is now a brand to be feared as they are bringing it to the Toyota’s and Honda’s full on! Year 2010 is going to be a banner year for Hyundai; proof of that is their overall 2009 sales are far higher than either Toyota or Honda when you look at year over years sales. They are poised to have a combined market share (when KIA is counted) of over 7.5% amazing numbers for being in a down economy like we are today.
The main thing is especially for Toyota and Honda Fan boys is that they are in complete denial when it comes to Hyundai’s brand cache moving past theirs.
One more thing, if you haven’t checked out Hyundai’s new revamped and awesomely redesigned website you need to hop over there pronto.Very impressive! http://www.hyundaiusa.com

Basically the Mid-size Sonata sedan car is itself a very pretty and fabulous car instead… its having a legendary body style with the lavish look and and all the recommended accessories in it which makes the car ahead of the others..
Even congratulation to the Hyundai for the great sale in November and hopes for the upcoming in December as well..

They are on top of their game. That new Sonata coming out next year blows the doors off the fugly Camry and Accord.

The Entourage has -2 sales? I wouldn’t publish lemon buy-backs.
The Veracruz has turned out to be a flop, just like the Azera. Neglect and lack of marketing are killing these models.

…. and then the new Accord will come out in 2012 and the cycle continues. It is the undisputed class leader and I LOVE Hyundai. Sit in and drive and Accord back to back with a Sonata and the Accord clearly is a superior vehicle.
