These are the very first images of the all-new Hyundai Accent, scheduled to hit the market in late 2011.

Earlier this year, Hyundai has unveiled a facelifted version of its bet selling sub-compact car Accent. The model, which has been on sale since 2005, received a few subtle design changes and powertrain upgrades.

The facelifted model will continue to sell for the next year and a half and then it is going to be replaced by a 2012 Hyundai Accent, which has been spied for the first time on a Korean soil, just recently. As evident from the spy shots, Hyundai is preparing a completely redesigned Accent for its late 2011 launch.

As these exclusive spy shots reveal, Hyundai’s volume-selling Accent will soon receive a complete exterior makeover. Although camouflaged, it is apparent that the prototype of next-gen Accent hints at new Hyundai Sonata sedan and evidently incorporates Hyundai’s latest design DNA language, called “Fluidic Sculpture”.

A closer look at a new Accent’s exterior reveals strong side character line and familiar front fascia design with streched headlamps and three-bar grille. The prototype also features attractively shaped side mirrors with integrated turn signals and 8-spoke alloy-wheels.

Codenamed RB, the all-new Hyundai Accent will share its platform with Hyundai i20 and will be available as a four-door sedan or a three-door hatchback. It will be available with a wide range of fuel-sipping four-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines.

The model is also expected to receive a direct-injection 1.6L gasoline engine with 140 horsepower that returns over 40 mpg. It will also be available with Hyundai’s advanced hybrid powertrain that the company has currently in the works.

No information regarding Accent’s official debut has leaked so far, but we expect to see the model making its inaugural unveiling sometime in 2011.
