New Hyundai Tucson
We are bringing you a set of latest images of the all- new Hyundai Tucson that surfaced to the web in Korea earlier today. Our latest series of shots includes the very first official image of the new Hyundai Tucson and two additional artist renderings that provide us initial sneak peak preview at Hyundai’s new compact crossover.
New Hyundai Tucson, known also as Hyundai ix35 (in Europe), will be officially launched on September 15th. It will make its official world premiere at the Frankfurt Auto Show, which opens its doors in the mid of September.
Exterior styling of the new Hyundai Tucson is based on the ix-onic concept shown at Geneva Motor Show in March. According to Hyundai, the all-new Tucson represents a major step forward for the company.
New Hyundai Tucson is their very first crossover vehicle that has been developed from scratch in Hyundai’s Europen design and technical centers. It also incorporates Hyundai’s new, more distinctive and unique exterior design language.
The all-new Hyundai Tucson is scheduled to go on sale early in 2010 and is expected to be available with a range of eco-friendly four-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines. Diesel power will come from the all-new 2.0L CRDi engine with maximum power output of 184 horsepower.
The 2010 Hyundai Tucson will also be available with 1.6L and 2.0L gasoline engines, equipped with latest gasoline direct injection -GDI technology. The afore-mentioned engines will be coupled with Hyundai’s brand-new 6-speed automatic transmission and will meet the EURO5 emission standards.
More details about the new Hyundai Tucson is expected to be released closer to the vehicle’s official debut. Hyundai-Blog will closely follow the official introduction and will provide loads of high-resolution photos and detailed information. So, stay tuned for the latest Hyundai Tucson news!

Hyundai has really stepped it up over the last few years with some really incredible vehicles. I think we will see many great things come from then in the near future.

Yes, I agree!

HAHA HYUNDAI…We already know what it’s pretty much going to look like…cant tease us.

I’ll be curious to see how Honda responds. If the CRV continues on with it’s peculiar styling and anemic engine for 2010, I think the Tucson will blow them away

This is better than a stupid Honda. If they can get the interior right (in which this time I think they will), this could be a nice alternative to the Acura RDX.

As Acura is months away from a possible bankruptcy, and departure from the US market Hyundai must develop the stuff to take its place at a lower cost.

Acura is in Serious Trouble, Honestly. A lot of that has to to with the fact that it doesnt have a gas sipper, like Acura overseas has. Some of that has to do with the “beak”, in which I like. I love ostentatious and wild grilles, and this new Grille by Hyundai is the best of them.

I just noticed that it’s the Turbo Diesel that is rated at 184 hp. Does anybody know the hp on the larger of the gasoline engines?

Acura gives a whole new meaning to “Lost In Space’. What’s so hard to figure out that your market niche is Entry Level luxury and that you have a core competence in Entry level luxury performance. Does it take 10 Harvard MBAs to figure that out? Or are 10 Harvard MBAs the problem?
Why Acura isn’t building the real 21st century spiritual successor to the BMW 2002 or some such thing is a total mystery to me

The 4 cyl. hp target, at last I heard, is 200hp. with a 40% incrase in hwy MPG mated to a 6 speed auto or manual with optional AWD. One engine this time around. 2.4L with DI.

Cant wait to try the 4cyl, manual6, AWD!
I hope that the manual will be available with awd

One word. Tucsacruz! Or is that two? This is one seriously, kickin’ looking CUV. Anxious to see more hi-res pics.
Bravo! Hyundai has definitely brought their “A” Game!

Wow! the all new Tucson sounds amazing. Keep up the good work H! PS: our current 2007 Tucson runs like a dream

This is EFFIN HOT!! Bravo Hyundai for not watering the concept photos too much and keeping key design aspects in tact. Front grill looks original and clean. This should take a significant chunk out of CRV and RAV-4 sales and perhaps even that baby Acura as someone astutely mentioned above..

@ Hyundaismoke:
Tho I don’t agree with some of your comments, I still think you are insightful and make some value added posts.
However, you will have to be careful with comments like,
“Acura is months away from a possible bankruptcy, and departure from the US market..” because there is absolutely no way this can be true. The USA is one of Honda’s most important markets alongside Europe and China. If so, was wondering what info you used to base this statement?

I prefer much the ix-onic concept car. looks much more bold and refined.

A little off topic…but does anyone else think the sonata is going to be a bit of a disappointment?
August 20th, 2009 at 2:49 am
can’t say yet, have too see some good pictures of it first, fully undisguised that is….as for the tucson above…to me it has the shape of a santa fe, with the look of a veracruz.
August 20th, 2009 at 2:49 am
I would just love to see what the price range of this thing will be. This is the first SUV Hyundai has produced other than the Veracruz that looks like it was designed and not “reworked”. This is miles away from the original Sante-Fe! If the price is right, this will be their top seller. Hey, I want one myself… I’d love to see how the thing handles the road too. My 2005 Tucson was a beast for it’s size. This looks more agile. Kudos Hyundai.
August 20th, 2009 at 2:51 am
…i take that back..looks like a veracruz…and has the shape of a veracruz aswell.
August 20th, 2009 at 2:51 am
Looks alright, kinda like a Subaru Tribeca. The blindspots look horrendous though.
August 20th, 2009 at 3:02 am
Alex, Months as in 24-36 months. Acura’s build quality is dropping as badly as their sales are droping. Its worse than most of the pack in this economy.
August 20th, 2009 at 10:34 am
By the Way guys, off topic but it seems as if the Hyundai Helion was not intended to be made, but seen as a styling exercise. I think the rear of the Veloster will be styled like that in terms of windows, I also think the Helions interior scheme has been copied and modified and put into production vehicles.

why did they not go for building the Hyundai ix-onic? this new ix35 seems to be rather disappointing!

New Hyundai Tucson is my dream car! I wish I can have it next year!

Hello colleagues,
I am addressing to you because I have a serious problem with my car model Hyundai, but also with the company, which is the general dealer for Hyundai for Bulgaria. I want to inform you about the impossibility for my car been repaired, although still it is under warranty.
Please for assistance, ideas and solutions, if anyone has similar problem, please contact me for comment.
Already five years I am customer of The company and I am paying lease fee for my car Hyundai Tucson and just before the guarantee expired, my engine was damaged.
Official Hyundai dealer for Bulgaria, Industrial Commerce Ltd. told me that I have to drive my car to their service as it is under warranty and they will repair it on their behalf.
I did it what they told me, and after they opened it realized that the problem is bigger then they expected, they start to seek way to deny the warranty. They base it on the following: I have twice surpassed the mileage of oil change and this is the reason for their refusal of the guarantee, before it has expired. Both cases, when I was overdue, I’ve been out of Bulgaria and I was inform their service and ask them where I can change oil abroad, in order not to run times out. I was assured from their dealer that this is not a problem and on his advice it is better to make the change in their service when I get back regardless the overdue.
Now, when found that the engine has serious damages, they do not want to repair the car, citing these two defaults. The dealer, now denied, and I have nothing as proof it. So, they are decline to repair the car under warranty as it is, and I must bear the cost of repairs.
So I ask you, my colleagues, whether it is possible to guarantee their license is valid after the two defaults, and do not refuse to take my money for their expensive maintenance services, but now, when I need to be repaired the defects arising in the warranty period, they refused me. They get so far that even threatened me that if I bring the case against them, they will bring a counter action for derogate from their reputation.
Is it possible to treat an accurate customer who five years has paid regularly like that and had correct relations with them? Is it proper to refuse to fair and regular paying customers, when they need to perform repairs? If you fell in a similar situation, please advice and help me to resolve the case.

This reply is to Nesso:
you people are all so naive. Hyundai is not the only manufacture that REQUIRES PROOF OF MAINTENANCE. All the manufactures do and it is not hidden or in “fine print”. If you looked at your owners handbook and literature you get with your vehicle, it will accurately disclose this information, as well as provide a required schedule for all maintenance that needs to be done. I have had a blown engine in my Hyundai but i read my owners manuals, since i am the owner, and had all my maintenance records to provide. guess what? no hassle warranty repair on my powertrain. sorry for your experience guys! i hope you learned a valuable lesson.
