Hyundai ix35 rendering surfaces to the web
Hyundai ix35 rendering surfaces to the web. The Tucson replacement to bow at September’s IAA Frankfurt Motor Show!
This is a very nice computer generated rendering that was sent to our mail-box by one of our daily readers and it shows us the forthcoming Hyundai ix35 crossover, better known as Hyundai Tucson in the US.
Codenamed LM, the next generation Tucson is expected to hit the market very shortly. According to latest reports, Hyundai is going to unveil the all-new Tucson already in September. Badged as Hyundai ix35 in Europe, the compact crossover will be put on display at the upcoming IAA Frankfurt Motor Show, where it will be joined by a mysterious concept car that Hyundai designers have been working on for the past few months.
Over the past six months, prototypes of Hyundai ix35 have gone through the final phase of testing that included hot-weather testings in the US soul, cold-weather testings in the North Pole, as well as handling testings at the famous Germany’s test track called the “Ring”.
The exterior design of the upcoming Hyundai ix35 is expected to be very close to ix-onic concept crossover that Hyundai showed us for the first time in Geneva Auto Show earlier this year. Perhaps not so dramatic, but still, its going to be far more modern and a lot sportier than the with the current Tucson.
The 2010 Hyundai ix35 will be equipped with a range of modern four-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines and for the first time, also with a fuel-savy six-speed automatic gearbox. [Rendering made by Remco Meulendijk]
Thanks for the tip Mark !

I truly hope it looks like this render. It looks great and I see no reason as to why they would have to water down the design.

Please fix the headlight!!! Looks like They photoshoped it from Genesis Sedan headlight.

Looks good…but i superman logo style lines in the middle of the front bumper…

Why do you always only post such small renderings? I found this one and another version in blue which are better resolution.
As for the rendering itself the headlights are huge and the wheels are weird (although I still like them). Otherwise, it looks pretty good.

I’m liking this. The design, if it holds true, looks very wicked looking in a snarly, “I’ll kick your butt” look. I like it. Yeah, I really like it.
This better be the next Tucson or else!!!
July 22nd, 2009 at 12:45 am
Ok “The Pill” or else what? Actually, I don’t want to know.
I think this is a huge improvement over the current model. This is a buyable suv… It’s as comfotable to sit in as it looks good on the outside. And I hope it cost less than a Toyota Rav 4 or a Honda Cr-V. This looks expensive but nice. Let’s hope it’s worth it.

nick: never noticed it but yeah the headlight almost covers the entire fender lol. oh well, just a rendering. i’m not a fan of the grill shape but everything else looks nice. it might grow on me after i see it for a while. i think the grill is an improvement over the original concept, and the overall design is much much better than the current tucson.

Yay here are the Hyundais I can spot in that render. Genesis sedan (headlamp), i30/i20 (grille), Genesis Coupe (fog lamps), Accent SR concept (wheels). No idea about the interior tho.

The current Tuscon a good car but aesthetically, this looks signficantly better. Certainly has presence with modern/clean lines and a touch futuristic.
I think the lights look great – not overdone and brings in the family resemblance. Luvin the superman grill – a bit cocky but its different. Nice.
Not usually a fan of that beige/sand colour bit works well here.. Wheels look perfect. Will be a success if it looks like this..

Patrick, the Interior is going for the Genesis Coupe look. They have shown some interior spyshots before.
July 22nd, 2009 at 5:47 am
EB, Hyundai is going for the Expensive but frugal look= “Elegant.”
July 22nd, 2009 at 5:59 am
I hate SUVs, but if they Bring their Diesel from Europe over, as the Europeans get the Diesel option; I would be pretty not-bright if I didnt buy one “veg-conversion” Wink, Wink.

Props to the artist who rendered this – person has got game. Hope HMC hires this individual..
July 22nd, 2009 at 6:16 am
Alex, I bet this is 90% of the way there as well.
July 22nd, 2009 at 6:19 am
By the way EB, Car and Driver spoke to Krafick and says the Equus name will most likely be changed for the US Market. Also, some of the outside chrome trim will be toned down.
July 22nd, 2009 at 6:37 am
Watch I bet this will happen:
Tuscon Debut=2009 Miami Auto Show Oct 23-Nov 1.
Sonata Debut= 2009 LA Auto Show Dec 3-Dec 23.
Accent Debut=2010 Detroit Auto Show Jan 11-24, 2010.
Thats how it was in the last 24/7 initiative.

Interior will look the same as in ix-onic concept, so check out for some ix-onic pics!
July 22nd, 2009 at 1:17 pm
hope the production Veloster is also debuted with the accent…
July 22nd, 2009 at 11:22 pm
i love it.
July 23rd, 2009 at 1:56 am
Patrick, why is it I have this suspicsion that the Veloster is the Accent 3 door?
If it is that will be a huge boon for the Accent in terms of credibility. Everyone know they are reliable, but the Accent lacks enthusiast credibility and the Halo status. Future Accehts are supposed to be the “Halo” cars from below. The Veloster’s styling cues would do a lot to help take them there.

Remember, the CRX was just a modified Civic with 5 More HP, and back then the Civic was like the Accent.
A good little reliable workhorse B-Segment Subcompact that was more than competent for the job it was made to do, but a lot of people except for a few tuners werent all that interested in it for more than what the intended job was= MPG.
(Though, I Own a Tuned Accent thats ready to fight all comers.)
The CRX made people say, “Well if they can do this to a Civic, then I can get the less costly stock Civic and tune it myself.”
Plus, this would be a great MINI Clubman Competitor. A premium hatch with superior MPG and similar Horsepower, and larger all around as well.
July 23rd, 2009 at 2:16 am
The Tib Market will go to the Gen Coupe, as the Gen Coupe is more upscale as what Tib drivers wanted. Plus, compared to the Tib the Gen Coupe is a whale of a car for the money. The Tib is almost a Rip Off compared to the Gen Coupe.
Do you know that a Top of the line Tib they still have in inventory costs more than a base Gen Coupe with better MPG and Superior Horse? Not just more, but $2000 more.
According to their Postioning grid, Hyundai expects this Veloster to be the most upscale mini tuner on the Market, and still be obtained at a quite affordable price. Same Postion same perception as the Mini, but more affordable.
July 23rd, 2009 at 2:20 am
The KIA Forte Koup, and the more powerful Coming KIA Kee will be more than enough to handle any Former Tibby Customers that might not like the changes, as well as steal Civic, TC, and RX-5 Tuner sales.

very good design . now i am shore that i will buy anew Tucson .
July 24th, 2009 at 6:46 am
The New Tuscon will be debuted in in 8 weeks at the Frankfurt Auto Show. That must means the Sonata=Miami and Accent=LA or even earlier.

I think the Portico Will be the Sonata Touring. Or they might just keep the Portico name for it. Think about it, everything that’s going into the Portico will go into the Next Gen Sonata as well. The Portico Will get AWD According to Edmunds.

Looked at this photo again and it is a really good-looking car. Very handsome from front 3/4.. Can’t believe it is just a render because it looks production ready as is..
July 28th, 2009 at 10:56 am
Exactly Alex, they should just leave it like this.
July 29th, 2009 at 10:37 pm
I think it’s time hyundai ditches it’s stylized h and makes something more upscale
July 29th, 2009 at 10:39 pm
BTW…this a bit off topic…but i was reading about the new kia codenamed vg being based on the azera platform…does this mean that the azera has been shifted to kia in the form of vg…and therefor removed from hyundai’s lineup…
July 30th, 2009 at 12:30 am
I dont think so, John Krafcik really likes the Azera he calls the Azera and the Accent “The true undiscovered gems of the Hyundai Line.” It would be a good Idea to scrap the Azera though, and just make the Sonata more upscale.
BTW I like the Stylized H, but I like the Retro HD logo as well.

Is it next tucson?

August 2nd, 2009 at 9:25 pm
This is Hyundai Europe designed car.
Unlike US california design team (they really designed so many ugly car. they are really inferior.)
Europe designed team is really cool.
I like arnejs design.
August 3rd, 2009 at 1:16 am
no insomnia, this car will be destined for both the US and Europe.
