More images of Hyundai Santa Fe
New images of the facelifted Santa Fe SUV surface to the web…
Here we have a couple of close-up shots of the 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe, which is set to go on sale in the South Korean market next month. As you already know, Hyundai is going to update its mid-size SUV with a facelift for the 2010 model year, which will bring Santa Fe some subtle styling tweaks and several technical upgrads.
Those include redesigned front fascia, which benefits from redesigned front grille and heavily re-worked front bumper. Rear-end of new Santa Fe SUV did not receive so many updates, but there are slightly updated tail-lights visible, as well as subrly redesigned rear-bumper.
Under the hood, new Santa Fe features an-all-new 2.0L four-cylinder diesel engine, which has been developed jointly by Hyundai and Kia. The same engine can also be foundunder the hood of new Kia Sorento and it is expected to be applied to other mid-size Hyundai and Kia models.
The higly advanced four-cylinder engine, which satisfies strict EURO5 emission norms, is mated to Hyundai’s new six-speed automatic gearbox. The all-new gearbox is 12 percent lighter compared to the five-speed unit, which has been previously applied to Hyundai Santa Fe.
The all-new, 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe is already at your local dealers, so check them out!

Well at least we know what the YF Sonata grille will look like…for better or worse.

Agreed

doesn’t look that much different than the current santa fe. i thought it would look more like the ix-onic concept or was that for the new tucson model?
July 2nd, 2009 at 12:09 am
That was indeed for the new tuscon model.
July 2nd, 2009 at 12:13 am
It looks better than I thought. Not bad.
July 2nd, 2009 at 12:41 am
It looks as bad as I feared. Truly cheap.
July 2nd, 2009 at 1:16 am
not a very good facelift if this is what ends up making it to the US.
July 2nd, 2009 at 2:51 am
The Turn Indicator Mirrors are the only thing I really noticed. This is a very conservative if not lazy facelift. Then again the Clientelle of the Santa Fe will only accept change if it is revolutinary.
Santa Fe lovers, youll get your Nuvis (3rd Gen Santa Fe) soon. Just be patient. I bet no one will care call that cheap.

dare not care

Don’t forget that this is the Asian market refresh…not the American refresh. This goes along with the Korean Accent. I’m pretty sure the American refresh will look somewhat different(maybe not much…just a new grill to fit the new family image.)
July 2nd, 2009 at 8:39 am
not that big of a change on the outside.. I like the rims better on the current gen tho..
July 2nd, 2009 at 3:28 pm
i think the grill will look better on a darker colored cuv…might even be a little sporty. White was the wrong color to debut the changes in (IMO.
July 2nd, 2009 at 6:06 pm
The ugliest grill I’ve ever seen on any modern day car.
Bonus points for it being trimmed in ‘chrome’.
Further bonus points for it being ‘inset’
It’s hideous compared to the current grill. Body color? And yes, I want a white Santy so I’d have to be stuck with this unless I painted it black. What were they thinking?
July 2nd, 2009 at 8:05 pm
I’m pretty sure there will be an aftermarket chrome grille!
July 2nd, 2009 at 9:33 pm
I’m actually surprised that they couldn’t come up with something better than that.
As for the facelift coming to america, I believe Autoblog posted a statement by Hyundai USA saying that it would prob make it over here (but not the Accent refresh).
July 3rd, 2009 at 4:50 am
I heard that too SoundGallery.
July 3rd, 2009 at 8:44 am
This “refresh” should remain only for the KDM. This is bordering on true uglification.
July 3rd, 2009 at 6:50 pm
Not a very wise move from Hyundai. The grille.. well, a little odd for me. Darken or chrome it up will be nice. And i don’t really like the rear lamp. This facelift make the car feels cheap.
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:37 pm
Uuuuuuglyyyyy….. there are no words to describe how ugly that car is going to be…..and with the absolutely gorgeous new sorento coming, boy, hyundai is in real trouble….
July 4th, 2009 at 1:52 am
Manuel Maybe Hyundai is purposely doing this to the Santa Fe so people will choose Sorrento. Remeber Hyundai and KIA are the same company. Hyundai is the Affordable Near Luxury brand and KIA is the cheap brand.

Smoke:
So, you are saying that hyndai did a hideus car just to sell more cars from kia? That´s insane… kia competes with Hyundai shoulder to shoulder with every model in their lineup… even more, <borrego(Mohave) has a full ladder frame, and the veracruz is a crossover both in the same price bracket. When a carmaker fails you have to say it.l Hyundai blew it with this santa fe facelift.
July 4th, 2009 at 8:28 pm
They do not compete. They are the same Company like GM. Hyundai is like Buick and KIA is like Chevy.
July 4th, 2009 at 8:30 pm
Hyundai, We must be not doing a good job of communicating our product if there are people who still think Hyundai and KIA are different companies.
July 6th, 2009 at 3:03 pm
Besides the horrifying painted grill and Elvis on velvet painting type rear lights…..
Anyone notice in all the spy shots the roof rack is silver/grey? For all colors of car.
Uh…. WTH? Black tires/black cladding at the bottom, Black rack on top. Balance. Color echo. Silver? I don’t get it. Why silver/grey? To match the wheels? It’s like change for the sake of change with no thinking behind it.
July 7th, 2009 at 5:39 am
Probably to spice it up temporarily and be controversial, Lisa.
Plus, they probably are taking it easy as they work to get that beautiful Nuvis Concept Production ready to be the Next Gen Santa Fe.
July 10th, 2009 at 4:35 pm
Smoke: You are way off. Picanto and i10 are the same car, rio and accent, sportage and tucson.etc. They share the same components and are the same cars with diffrent bodywork, so on with the rest of the line-up, except Kia does not have a genesis contender.
Kia and Hyundai are diffrent companies, with diffrent goals and views of the market wich are OWNED by the same people. the money goes to the same bag, but they are competition amongst themselves. so there is no BUICK-CHEVY thing going.
July 11th, 2009 at 12:41 am
Why would they be in competition amongst themselves? Do you know how silly that sounds man?
Buick and Chevy cater to different markets, and have different views and goals as well. However, they do not compete against each other.

When is the Santa Fe expected in India
November 1st, 2009 at 6:36 pm
Manuel Picanto and i10 are not the same cars but the Santro and Picanto are the same cars but look differently.. i10 is a complete new platform.
