Say hello to the 2010 Hyundai Sonata/i40, codenamed YF…
This is the very first image of the 2010 Hyundai Sonata completely undisguised. Unfortunatelly the Sonata image is so small that you will hardly see all the front fascia details, but still, its good to see it finally uncovered. Besides, once we see the first such image, it means that soon we are gonna see more shots leaking to the web.
As we previously reported, the 2010 Hyundai Sonata is going to feature a lot sportier exterior design, while interior will be improved and built from better interior plastics and materials. Codenamed YF, the new Hyundai Sonata is expected to be available in two variants, as a sporty four-door coupe -sedan and a wagon. Sonata wagon is rumored to go on sale only in Europe where mid-sized wagons prove to be very popular.
According to the latest rumors spreading over the web, Sonata will have a direct injection engine placed under the hood. With the introduction of new generation Sonata sedan, Hyundai will also introduce its latest 2.4L gasoline direct injection engine with power output estimated at around 200 horsepower. The all-new four-cylinder gasoline engine will join Hyundai‘s new R-diesel engine, whis is also going to make its world premiere in next Sonata.
Hyundai has high hopes for its all-new mid-sized contender. The model is set to remain the top selling Hyundai car in the United States as well as worldwide. Next Sonata sedan will be first introduced in South Korea (September 2009), while its official US debut is likely going to happen at the 2010 North American International Auto Show in January 2010, with sales commencing shortly afer initial introduction.

The wagon should sell here too! The Toyota Venza (which is a Camry Station wagon is doing much better than expected because no one can afford an SUV anymore but need much more than a car and it doesn’t have the “soccer mom” stigma of a minivan. Like the Genesis series, it will sell. There are 250+ million drivers in the U.S. and they just lost a car company, and fear of losing a complete division. If hyundai was smart, they would throw every thing they could at the U.S. market now because when we come back to purchase, we will remember who was doing well when others were not and finally take notice of the underdog car company that made the N.W. car of the year in a recession! Subaru has outsold Hyundai here during this period because of their “station wagons”: the Forester, and the Legacy! …And at this rate Hyundai has nothing to loose.

Hmm, those long lights an interesting choice. Everything out of the Hyundai design house these days is impressing me these days. If HMC does not do anything to wild with this, it should be a big success.

wow this looks good despite the small picture. now i should think about getting either used m35/45, or this Sonata because i am really looking forward to get this car when i go to college next year

Big deal if it looks a little bit like a Toyota Camry, Guys.
These are the Facts:
1. The Toyota Camry is an overpriced Large Economy Sedan from an Econo Car Maker.
3. The Sonata is a Large Aspirational Luxury Sedan from an Aspirational Luxury maker, that is very affordable.
4. Those pics you guys are shoiwng are months old, including the Article pic. That includes every pic except 1 from yflove.com.

If anything this car looks like a Lexus ES (Rebadeged Camry). Thats good to me, becuase they took the Lexus ES 350, and made it look more youthful and aggressive.
Let me explain why this is SPECTACULAR for Hyundai.
1. Lexus has a huge problem attacting and retaining younger buyers due to price and fuel economy. The Average age of a Lexus owner is 60, the average age of a Hyundai owner is nearly half that.
2. This Sonata is expected to get about 37 MPG, and thats without the Hybrid Powertrain.
3. The Sonata will get that 37 MPG with a 4 cylinder 275 HP powertrain. The Lexus ES gets 27 MPG out of a V6 that has 272 HP. (The Lexus ES is the car featured in the new “Some people buy cars, and Some people buy cars of their dreams” Lexus commercials)
4. The Lexus ES is the same price as a mid trim Genesis Sedan, and has 103 less horsepower and the same gas mileage than a Genesis.

Its my dream car, I was GM of hyundai in india branch Hyundai needs to redo its logo. Something more symetry to give it a better balance. Other then that it looks like a typically safe design.http://www.rvshapeup.com
