2010 Hyundai Sonata/i40, codenamed YF – rendering
Check out this cool rendering, which previews the all-new 2010 Hyundai Sonata/i40 sedan…
Its been a while since we saw the first two renderings of the next generation YF Sonata surfacing to the web. Those renderings created quite a buzz among Hyundai fans and automotive media as well as both indicated a much sportier exterior look than we have been used to see on latest Hyundai mid-sized sedans.
Thhose two computer generated images have been based partly on Genesis sedan but also featured some body lines from Sonata prototypes that have been previously spied in wild.
Now, here we have an all-new Sonata rendering thats seems to be fully based on Sonata prototypes. It also features a similar head-lamp design as we have seen at Sonatas teaser shot a while ago and its side profile looks the same as on Sonata prototypes. It even features a strong side character line that was also seen on previous Sonata spy shots.
Just as expected the overall exterior design looks pretty clean and very sporty. In my humble opinion, this rendering could be the first one thats pretty close to the final Sonata design. What do you think about it?
In addition to the rendering image above, I am adding two more Sonata YF spy shots taken up-close, sent to me by a Hyundai fan from Korea. Thanks for the pics Lee!

I like it! It’s a little plaineer than I thought but it’s nice… but it’s that same vanilla styling that made the last generation Sonata so popular in the U.S. No over designing like the Acura TL no odd shapes in the “corners” like the Honda Accord. Just good solid timeless, but somewhat contemporary non-polarizing styling. That’s what sells to various regions and cultures. Good job Hyundai.

Two thumbs up here. I have always personally preferred simple clean lines to the tangled mess that some of these companies are putting out these days.
Less is definitely more. I wouldn’t be disappointed if it looked similar to this.

Haha!!! This is the worst example of a “render” I’ve ever seen yet… I’m sure it will look nothing like this. I’m sorry but these uber-amateur chops make me laugh~ the wheels don’t even match the perspective and there are thousands of good Genesis Coupe photos around.

Looks great! Nice clean lines and hopefully the newly developed hybrid powertrain will give Toyota and Honda a run for the money.

The artistic skills need a little fine tuning
But good effort..why aren’t the headlamps in place? It could have looked better if you had put the headlamps on.

Time for a new post?

Easy there Patrick.. This may be the worst ‘render’ you’ve seen but I have seen much worse than this. Unless you want to post your version of the next Sonata and wow everyone, I don’t think its fair to chop this down.. Many posts here seem to think it is a good effort..

When so many of the “spy shots] look like the Hyundai Genesis, how can we tell if they are ,infact, photos of the 2010 Sonata. We are buying a new Sonata in Febuary or March of 2010 and we are anxiously awaiting a [true] photo of the 2010 Sonata GLS. Wife doesn’t like “sunroof or leather seats”. Therefore, the GLS.Our decision on the Sonata has not came without a lot of searching other brands such as Honda,Toyota,Nissan,GM,etc. and Hyundai has them all beat in each catagory,
