Back in February, I brought you a rendering of the next generation Hyundai Sonata/i40. That rendering revealed the look of Sonatas front fascia in details. You could have noticed huge front grille with three chrome bars positioned in-between a pair headlamps at the upper part of front fascia, while the lower part featured three elegant air-intakes and no fog lights.

Following that rendering I brought you earlier this year, is the first real-life image of the 2010 Sonatas front bumper. Those who doubted the rendering to be accurate have now a chance to compare three images (after the jump) and see they are all a perfect match.

As the image above and some spy shots from before already revealed, the 2010 Sonata will be radically different to the current model and will feature far more modern styling. In addition, Hyundai revealed the future Sonata will have some advance powertrain options including new 2.2L R-diesel engine and a gasoline turbo engine.

It will also be available as a hybrid car, using the same hybrid powertrain as we have seen debuting at L.A. Auto Show last year. The 2010 Sonata is going to be Hyundais first foray on to global hybrid car market therefore I am really looking forward to see whether the vehicle will be capable of competing head to head against its main rivals from Toyota and Honda.

Codenamed YF, the next generation Hyundai Sonata/i40 will make its official debut at the end of this year and is expected to go on sale in early 2010.

This rendering-image was just sent to me from a person named Kim and shows how the bumper fits to the front fascial of the Sonata prototype. Thanks for the image Kim!
