2010 Hyundai Tucson LM rendering
The 2010 Hyundai Tucson -LM rendering. Could this be the final shape? Its exterior shape looks pretty close to the ix-onic concept we have seen debuting at Geneva Auto Show earlier this year.
The 2010 Hyundai Tucson will adopt Hyundais new “fluidic sculpture” design language and is expected to boast outstanding performance with the segment-leading safety features and fuel efficiency.
The new Tucson will deliver powerful performance through its 2-liter Theta II gasoline engine, which will be mated to company’s all-new six-speed automatic transmission. Manual six-speed gearbox will be available as well. In addition, Hyundai will offer more engine options in the new Tucson, including a 1.6L and 2.4L gasoline engines and 1.7L and 2.0L diesel engines.
To meet the most stringent automotive safety and crash requirements, the Tucson will be built with hot-stamped ultra high-strength steel and will feature complete safety equipment including six standard airbags, ABS, ESP and other safety technology.
You can expect to see the all-new Tucson makin its official premiere at the 2009 L.A. auto show, scheduled for this November. At the show, Hyundai s also expected to debut the 2011 Sonata sedan, which will go on sale early in 2010.
What do you think of this rendering that shows a 2010 Hyundai Tucson? Do you think the production model will look like this one?

Back and side looks good, I am not convinced by the frontal
April 5th, 2009 at 4:55 pm
agree… the “mouth” looks weird… like going to crunch something..
April 5th, 2009 at 6:55 pm
looks way better than current model.

It looks very close to the ix-onic concept which is a great thing for Hyundai. I like that new Veloster/Arnejis Grille on the Hyundais. The designers stumbled on something great.

Distinct and unique. Agree with smoke that designers may have come upon a nice look. Two thumbs up here..

Front grille kind of reminds me of the ‘Superman’ logo.. hh

Like the rear end…wished the front looked more like the ix-onic concept
April 6th, 2009 at 4:17 am
btw…i dont know why but the pic of the rear end reminds me of the new 7 series

the overall lines and shape of the body are remarkable. they look amazing, way above the class, and even the class abouve it. It is very FX-like in its uniquness, modernness, flow and overall forward style. i like.
April 6th, 2009 at 5:17 pm
its definitely the best looking small SUV if that is in fact the car. the rear end is my fave angle, the front is weird but different so i like it. John, i do see some BMW in the rear.
April 6th, 2009 at 8:33 pm
now that i look at it again, the taillights look very similar to Q5
April 6th, 2009 at 10:19 pm
I really like this. It is very bold for this class of SUV. I would love to know if the interior is just as progressive as the exterior! I agree with John I wished the front looked more like the concept. The rear is nice though. It does look very Infiniti FX like and from the rear. There there are elements of Veracruz …. and considering that vehicle is thousands more, that’s not a bad thing.

If everyone remembers we have already seen the interior…remember the spy shots that came up a bit back
April 6th, 2009 at 11:15 pm
guys. some of you are saying that the front would’ve looked nice if it looked like a concept. well haven’t we heard of that saying before when the Genesis coupe concept came out? i thought the production model was a failure, but with a good picture, it looks really great. maybe prehaps we just need to wait to get used to the production model. just my thoughts.
April 6th, 2009 at 11:16 pm
Jason…i agree…we’ll just have to see….btw…has anyone noticed the fact that hyundai designs are starting to become original
April 6th, 2009 at 11:35 pm
side and Back looks very good, but the frontal is not that god maybe in th real view it will be better .
at the and i am waiting for it. to change my 2006 Tucson by the new 2010 Tucson.
April 7th, 2009 at 6:23 pm
I Like the front, it original, but the back is boringly like others in the category, Please do something in the back so it is also as hip
April 8th, 2009 at 2:40 pm
i am not sure of this rendering but ,ibelieve the final product will look better.i guess this is the first time hyundai is using its signature hexagonal grille,in a production car.

Speaking of new suv..any news on the new portico?
April 14th, 2009 at 8:30 am
Good question.
April 14th, 2009 at 12:58 pm
Nope, but it was reported that Entourage is soon going to be discontinued from the range, and probably replaced by a new different model. And here’s when the PO (Portico) comes in.
April 15th, 2009 at 3:47 am
Yea heard about that…one thing i wish they keep alive of the entourage is the exterior look…should replace the sedona’s look…the entourage look is much better
April 15th, 2009 at 4:51 am
If that is the case admin, then I just hope that the Portico has the same cargo room and height of the Entourage. It would be sad to loose a vehicle like that for a vehicle that would just as easily be replaced by a mid size SUV like the Santa-Fe.
Jason, yes we did see the interior of the concept but I’d bet there isn’t nearly as much chrome inside… at least I’d hope not! …like a pseudo-contemporary-50′s SUV… thing-ee.
April 18th, 2009 at 11:08 am
I am not gonna lie. Entourage has one of the great deseign so far for Minivan.(the other one i like is Honda Odyssey.) they should somehow keep the deisng element to future vehicles.
And EB, i don’t think i ever talked about the interior of the concept. What ever concept that you are referring to, i wish Hyundai could use the Genesis Coupe Concept as Genesis Coupe Street version. That’d be Sweet
April 21st, 2009 at 12:56 am
I’m sorry, I wasn’t clear… what I was referring to was your comment on the exterior. I should have put a paragraph break in my comment when I referred to the interior. My appologies. Reading down the list, i sometimes lose my place.
