Watch the Hyundai ix-onic video, unveiled by Hyundai Motor Company during Geneva Auto Show.

I am pretty sure you all agree with me what a wonderful concept car Hyundai unveiled today in Geneva. The ix-onic concept previews the Tucson SUV successor, which is slated to go on sale in the final production form in the autumn this year.

Judging from this video, which is by the way, showcasing the Hyundai ix-onic concept while slowly cruising on the parking place in front of Hyundais European headquarters, Hyundai has another “hot cake” on its hands. Lately, Hyundai has had many, but the most exciting ones are not just here yet (I have the 2010 Hyundai Sonata and Hyundai PO crossover on my mind).

So, we are… well Hyundai is celebrating a launch of another stunning concept vehicle, which has been penned by Hyundais European design studio and sports some really nice exterior design elements, such as a unique front fascia with Hyundai logo placed a top of it, reminiscent of that we have seen on a Hyundai QarmaQ concept a few years ago. The side profile features a very interesting up side down character line, which ends in the tail lights equipped with LED technology.

Interior of Hyundai ix-onic is fitted with many chrome accents placed all over the dash and steering wheel. There is plenty of chrome at the shifter knob as well, which is connected to the six-speed automatic transmission. This tranny has been confirmed to find its way into production very soon on various Hyundai models.

The ultra modern tranny is paired with an all-new 1.6L Turbo GDI (gasoline direct injection) engine, generating competitive 175 horsepower and more torque than the V6 powerplant currently installed to the Tucson SUV.

The ix-onic concept also boasts a few eco-friendly technologies. Aside from its light-weight body parts, the concept also features an ISG (Idle Stop & Go) system, which brings the fuel consumption down by up to 15 percent.

Everything about this car seems perfect, its exterior design, cabin layout, engine and transmission. Now, if only Hyundai could bring a very close to the ix-onic concept vehicle to the production!!

This was only a brief introduction and a few thought on the Hyundai ix-onic concept car. I will share more pics and official information with you later today, when I publish an official press release.

I hope you will enjoy this interesting introductionary Hyundai ix-onic video! Feel free to post your comments, good or bad.
