To make this looong press release more reader friendly, I uploaded some of the latest Equus shots that appeared on the web today and inserted them in between the text! Enjoy your read!
2010 Hyundai Equus, official press release
To create the best: That was the uncompromising objective for Hyundai Motor Co.’s VI Project design and engineering team. After ten years in the marketplace, the company’s flagship sedan EQUUS would be retired and replaced by a new EQUUS, an import fighter that would need to compete on an equal footing with the most storied names in the luxury car business.
Much had changed in the interim requiring a rethinking of the basic assumptions. It started with the adoption of a front engine, rear wheel drive architecture, the luxury segment’s de facto standard, to achieve the ideal 52:48 front-rear weight distribution needed to achieve optimal ride and handling characteristics.

If I were to purchase an Equus, the first thing I would do is take it to the body shop and have the hood ornament removed, and have the holes in the hood covered and repainted. John, like I told you earlier, these kids do not care about the damaged caused, if they see the car parked in a public garage, on the street, the hood ornament will be snatched. You know what I am talking about because American car manufactures stopped making hood ornaments because the kids took the hood ornaments as collector items and put then on their chain necklaces. I had two Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme cars and both received damage because the kids ripped the ornaments off the car.

When you drive an Equus, you shouldn’t park in public garages or on the street. If there is no closed parking around, you leave your chauffeur with the car.

I’m sure when this car comes to America, they will make the hood ornament “vandalproof” or remove it all together… or make it retractable like the antennae… maybe.. Or you can hav ethe chauffeur guard it. Hehe
