Hyundai i20 three door; new images and specs
Three-door Hyundai i20 images
We have taken the wraps off the three-door Hyundai i20 just a few days ago, and today, Hyundai has also released some additional images ahead of its official debut. As you already know, the three-door Hyundai i20 will be making an official world debut at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show, where it will be put on display alongside i30 Blue and Hyundais latest HED-6 crossover concept.
Like five-door i20, the new three-door Hyundai i20 was also shaped at Hyundais European design headquarters in Germany. As you can see from these latest images, the three-door features almost identical design as its five-door sibling.
The engine offering will be the same as on the five-door i20. It’s engine line-up will include the entry level powerplant with displacement of 1.2L and 78 horsepower, while two more powerful gasoline units, the 1.4L and 1.6L, will also be available. They will be generating 100 and 126 horsepower, respectively.
In addition, Hyundai will also offer two fuel efficient (1.4L and 1.6L) diesel engines. The 1,6L diesel engine generates 126 horsepower and is known to be the most powerful diesel unit in the B- car segment. A five-speed manual transmission will be standard on entry level i20s, while some high-end models will also be available with 6-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.
The three-door Hyundai i20 will go on sale in global markets (including European market) in the second quarter of the 2009. As every Hyundai up-to-date, the three door i20 will offer an array of standard features and will undercut all the main rivals with a very competitive pricing. Expect the entry level three-door Hyundai to be priced below 12.000 Euros.
More official images of the three-door Hyundai i20 are expected to surface to the web over the next few days as its official world premiere date looms closer. Stay tuned for the latest news!

Not feeling this design personally. There is definitely a market for these small, fuel efficient vehicles but its the rear-end that I don’t find appealing. The way the character lines curves down reminds me of the Nissan Murano. Obviously, I don’t like the look of the Murano..

The back end just needs a good spoiler, thats all. Well, maybr a new rear bumper as well for US sale.

The i20 has really grown on me. Slap a trunk on it, and send it our way along with the five-door as a replacement for the long-in-the-tooth Accent, and I think it would sell.

I’m going to buy this car if it comes to the U.S. with the same design and engine.

I like it. “i20″ is a totally stupid name, but I like it and would take one to replace my Accent if and when it wears out. If they are smart they will have some cool-looking color choices.
