Hyundai Genesis sedan named the 2009 Car of the year in Canada…

…Hyundai Genesis sedan. Seems like Hyundai really has a terrific vehicle on its hands right now. Their Genesis sedan has only been on the market for about six month, and it has already acquired a series of most important North American awards.

Today, Hyundai Genesis sedan has been named the 2009 Canadian Car of the year. The news has been announced by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) during the 2009 Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto.

To win the prestigious Canadian Car of the year award, Genesis has defeated several other vehicles coming from well-known brands. It was put up against competitors such as the Acura TL, Audi A3 hatch and Infiniti G37X, beating them all in several key categories including exterior styling roominess and comfort, ride comfort, visibility and engine refinement

“This award is testimony to the fact that Hyundai produces award-winning vehicles at all levels of the market, from the entry-level subcompact segment to the high-end luxury segment”, said Steve Kelleher, president and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada.

Besides the 2009 Canadian car of the year award, Genesis has also been named the 2009 North American Car of the year by Cars.com. In addition, Hyundais brand new Tau V8 engine was also selected as one of the Wards 10 Best Engines for 2009!
