Early debut: 2009 Hyundai Superbowl XLIII commercials
Hyundai plans major advertising campaign launch exclusively for the 2009 Superbowl…
Thanks to the world wide web we got used to see concept cars and production car models making their unofficial (early) debuts quite oftenly in the past few years. Automakers strive to keep their new models in complete secrecy until the day of their official launch, but quite oftenly “car spies” succeede to snap some shots prior to that and release them to the public at popular car enthusiast websites such as Hyundai Blog. (he he, grin)
Now, the same has happened with Hyundai, but this time, it was a long anticipated Superbowl commercials that hit the web kind of unexpectedly and before its official, during the “big game” airing.
Below, you can watch five commercials that Hyundai plans to show during and before the Superbowl XLIII. The batch of ’09 Superbowl commercials includes the Epic Lap ad with Hyundai Genesis Coupe and Rhys Millen in the action!…Enjoy the videos!
UPDATE: The leading provider of new and used car information, the Kelly Blue Book, reported a significant increase in new-car Web traffic for the Hyundai Genesis, Audi A6 and Toyota Venza following the airing of their respective new vehicle ads during the 2009 Super Bowl.
The Hyundai Genesis experienced 82 percent more page views with the launch of its advertisements to promote the new vehicle. Audi’s A6 commercial, featuring action star Jason Statham, attracted enough attention to drive traffic to Audi A6 pricing reports up 45 percent during the Super Bowl. In addition, traffic on kbb.com for Toyota’s all-new Venza increased 13 percent.

The Hyundai assurance program is an incredible thing. Never heard a company do that before. With offers like that, why would you want buy anything else. …but then, that’s the idea isn’t it? Hyundai knows how to shake things up.

Love these commercials. Can’t wait to see the Lexus/BMW/Hyundai ad on Sunday. I’ve had my ’04 Tiburon for over 4 years and the only problem I’ve ever had is a sticky driver’s side lock. Whenever anyone asks about my car I have nothing but praise for Hyundai. Now I am really excited to see and eventually test drive the Genesis Coupe. Awesome car!

To be honest, I find the ad where people (bosses from Hyundai’s competitors) scream HYUNDAI, HYUNDAI, a little pathetic!
I don’t know, why, but never liked such ads.
the “Epic Lap” however, looks to be awesome!!

The Epic Lap is right to the point and sweet. Fantastic choice of music – my guess is the Superbowl audience should be receptive. The German/Japanese one is also very cheeky. Really impressed overall.

It Huyndai, like Sunday. They should use that instead of. “Hyundai. Drive your Way” For their ads.

The commercial with the “bosses” at Lexus (Toyota) and BMW is very inaccurate. Being of Japanese decent, I can assure you Japanese people don’t yell and scream like that. It’s undignified and culturally inappropriate. In Korea, maybe it’s acceptable to behave as such. Definitely NOT in Japan!

My mother had a 1993 Hyundai and changed the oil every 5 years and brakes and muffler when they made noises. The car was treated like crap but it kept on running well even with the neglect . I thought Hyundai must make really good cars and now am a big fan.

Hyundai builds a very decent car for the money, but, they miss a few points along the way that others (Toyota et al) do not miss.
Also, Hyundai is NOT in the customer service business. They offer this wonderfully long warranty, but, there are many hassles along the way to have items fixed under that same warranty.
I bought my first and last Hyundai about 2 weeks ago. Next one will be another Toyota which is a complete car, not a rush to the assembly line. Also, no problems having a Toyota fixed under warranty. Although a warranty repair on a Toyota is very rare. I’ve owned 8 of them and only one need work done under warranty. No problem. Oh, and all of these 8 Yodas have 100K+ miles when I retire them.
