Interior image of the upcoming Hyundai Equus sedan surfaces to the web
The very first interior image of the 2010 Hyundai Equus emerges on the web…
Our fellow Korean friend brings us another exciting spy shot image and we believe the interior belongs to the luxury Hyundai Equus sedan, which Hyundai plans to unveil exclusively for its home Korean market.
The world debut of Hyundais new Equus flagship is looming on the horizon and latest information from the South Korean country brings us the 3rd of March as an official unveiling date.
This is already the second interior spy shot that surfaced to the web since last week and it definately confirms official Hyundai Equus debut is approaching fast. The image reveals Hyundai is bringing out a very appealing and up-to date interior design with massive center console featuring a huge LCD display at the top, chrome side-wents and a “Bentley-style” analog clock in the middle.
In my humble opinion, the interior looks pretty damn good and also a tad more sophisticated than that found in Genesis sedan. Hopefully it looks as good once we see it completely undisguised.
That is all for now, I hope you enjoyed this photo. Stay tuned as we are expecting to show you more images of the Hyundai Equus interior soon.

You’re saying KDM only still, but Wards had an article Jan. 23, titled “New Hyundai Equus Flagship Headed for U.S.”. Hope you’re the one in the wrong on this one.

come to think of it…if this comes to the states and has the price tag people are saying of like 50 to 70k then what are they gonna do with the genesis

umm… have it as the flagship model john? lol. obviously they’d place it higher than the genesis but im not sure now is the right time to introduce this to the US market… it’d be like what happened with the phaeton. genesis sedan was a small risk but this is gonna be huge. hope they can market it properly or prepare to get hammered by media and the public.

I don’t see this as a huge risk. They had to develop the car anyway for the KDM. And with everyone looking for value, now would be a great time to introduce it to the US market. I’d think it’d probably be in the $45-60K range, which would still be well under the Lexus LS but above the Genesis.
The Phaeton just isn’t a good example. For one thing, it looked like a LeSabre had sex with a Passat. This car might have some styling borrowed from other luxury cars, but it still looks the part of a luxury car. And for another, there was no value statement with the Phaeton. It undercut its German competition, but not by a whole lot and still was priced well above the base price of a Lexus LS. The only appeal was to those VW fanboys who’d won the lottery. The Equus would be a completely different story, giving those looking for the ultimate in comfort something to look at that didn’t require the ultimate in price.

john, what you are saying is like if ipod touch comes out, what will happen to ipod classic or ipod video? well Equus is just slot above Genesis.. it is not going to affect any on Genesis sale. Plus that interior looks like a winner from 1st time seeing it. I had little bit of problem with Genesis’ interior when i saw it for the first time… it looks nice but i wasn’t sure, well as the time went by, it started to grow on me. So i like the Genesis’ interior now!
Derrick G, i think the Equus should price higher than what you estimated( from 45k to 60k). i’m thinking like 50k to 75k).

Derrick G: I pray to God Hyundai’s gonna bring the VI to the States, but our current information talks different. At the moment Hyundai has no plans to bring the VI to the States.
But plans can always change. You know, Genesis Coupe, Genesis sedan and Veracruz were not supposed to enter European markets, but now seems like both will hit the EU sometime during the summer, while Veracruz just went on sale as an iX55.
Perhaps we have just to wait for a few months and things will get more clear.

So if anyone subscribes to Wards and can fill in a few details of why they’re saying the VI is US bound, please fill us in.

Looking sharp. For whatever reason, i am very picky about the steering wheels and can’t get a clear view from this but relatively confident it will be classy..

I agree the steering wheel is SO important. its the part that you touch most in the car, it should look good and feel good to. hyundai usually does a good job in that department, both Genesis’ steering wheels look GREAT and are actually pretty original looking (sedan atleast). The only downfall on hyundais part in the steering wheel department is the Sonata’s. They spend all this time and money redesigning a great looking interior and just leave the ugly droopy-looking one from yester-year. It looks so out of place.
