Next-generation Tucson compact crossover from Hyundai caught ahead of its late 2009 launch.

Codenamed LM, the 2010 Hyundai Tucson prototype has been captured on digital camera by one of the automotive enthusiasts from Italy. The unknown author managed to take some spy shots and have even gotten close enough to get a clear view of the interior!

The first you can notice is that the interior on the future Hyundai Tucson has been completely redesigned. It looks more dynamic than the one found on the current Tucson model and silver metal trim accenting the center dash and steering wheel provides much sportier overall appearance. First impressions are very good and lets only hope Hyundai used higher grade materials this time!

The 2010 Tucson will share its unibody platform and major technical components with the new Kia Sportage and guess what, both crossovers will be built on same production lines at Kias European manufacturing plant! The start of serial production is planned for the beginning of 2010.

In addition to a range of highly advanced four-cylinder engines, the new Tucson LM is expected to also receive a brand-new six-speed automatic transmission, which has been first unveiled in the Korean-market Grandeur sedan.

Latest rumours also suggest Hyundai is developing hybrid powertrain for the next Tucson. A hybrid version of new Hyundai Tucson is not expected to make its debut before 2011, according to a source close to Hyundai.
